We successfully conducted our training for the first half 2018. Topics covered range from decision making, adaptation, problem solving, project planning, action planning, strategic planning, preparing for job interviews, work Ethics, among others. ABOUT TRANET-AFRICA
TRANET Africa is a leading national and international youth led organization that works to mainstream young peoples’ engagement in socioeconomic and political development and governance processes in Uganda and Africa. TRANET -Africa was started in 2008.
Through her programme: Education, Employment and Labor Justice, TRANET-Africa implements a broad range of sub programmes such as the Human Resource Academy, the Internship and Volunteers programme. TRANET -Africa also hosts the Youth Consortium on Labour Justice (YOCOLAJ), the Volunteers Network and Youth Think Tank on development.
THE START AND IMPROVE YOUR CAREER PROGRAMME
Inaugurated in 2016, the Programme is intended to enhance the employment skills, competence, effectiveness and productivity of the participants as well as creating opportunities for the underprivileged men and women by enhancing access to employment, entrepreneurship, volunteerism and internship opportunities as a means to fighting unemployment.
The Programme further intends to ensure that while preparing beneficiaries for work effectiveness, they can as well be entrepreneurs to create and manage their own initiatives and enhance their skills in dealing with conflict at work and sexual harassment among others.
Participants to the programme undergo training through the TRANET- Africa’s Human Resource Academy. The training is a week’s long none residential intensive but fun packed process that brings together participants in contact with experienced trainers and mentors. Currently, the trainings are held in Kampala Uganda’s.
Participants to the programme are taken through a varied range of training areas ranging from personal management, work ethics, social entrepreneurship, how to thrive in a competitive work environment, team work and how to be an efficient employee among others.
In partnership with local, national, regional and international organizations, the Programme aims at giving beneficiaries an opportunity to get placed in institutions and or environments of their wish and desire either as interns (for students) and or volunteers. Suitable beneficiaries also stand an opportunity to get placed as substantive employees.
Participation to the programme is highly competitive and TRANET -AFRICA reserves the right to decline some applications.
BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAMME
BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAMME
· Stand an opportunity to be placed with a host institution as a volunteer, intern or substantive employee.
· Get a certificate of completion of the training
· Join our volunteers’ network
· Get access to a range of information for internship, volunteerism and or job opportunity placements
· Stand an opportunity to get substantive job placement
· Get a letter of recommendation or referral from TRANET –Africa for placement/ Employment
COSTS AND TRAVEL
· Applicants from both Uganda and East Africa are required to meet their own transport to, during and after the training
· Through a cost sharing basis, applicants to the Programme contribute 30% of the total training costs amounting to 50,000 (about 14 US Dollars) for local participants. Foreign participants contribute 150 US Dollars to cater for accommodation, training and meals among others.
TRAINING DATES:
The training for the first half 2018 intake shall take place from the 3rd to the 6th April 2018 at our training Center in Kampala Uganda.
ELIGIBIBILITY TO THE PROGRAMME: APPLICANTS TO THIS PROGRAMME CAN BE;
Ø university students yet to undergo internship
Ø university students in their final year of study,
Ø Fresh graduates and or job seekers.
Ø those already employed and wish to upgrade their skills
Important Note.
1. the primary goal of the programme is to enhance employment and entrepreneurial skills of participants.
2. Those already employed cannot benefit from internship and volunteer placement, but can stand a chance to get placement in better employment positions
3. The programme accepts only a limited number of applications per intake.
