8th February 2026!🤗

Rhetoric implies the use of words and word symbols/characters to persuade. It is applied in written and spoken forms, most notably through public speaking, creative writing, theater and in commercials among others.

Aristotle defined Rhetoric as "...the faculty of observing in any given case the available means of persuasion", whereby said " means of persuasion" invariably featured under three main categories:

1- Pathos (Emotional Appeal): which is the mode of triggering a favorable emotional response in the audience.

2- Logos (Logical appeal): that supported by facts and evidence, and directed to challenge the rational faculties of members in the audience.

3- Ethos (Ethical Appeal): Appeal by ethical impression evinced through the orators's character as judged against the contents and context of his speech.

Learned something?! Well, that's just a tip of the iceberg.

Apply for our full course experience in the art of Persuasive Writing and Public Speaking this January-February window.

Our classes commence on 8th February 2026.

See you there!

PERVASIVE PUBLIC SPEAKING as a "hired gun" is all about exploiting people's desperation, weaknesses and vulnerabilities; about attempting to dazzle, charm and manipulate them by superficial hacks and flattering strategems in order to have your way no matter what!❌

PERSUASION however lies in the artful, ethical, and effective tradition of Rhetoric that emphasizes the virtuosity and creativity employed in persuasive methods other than the end result. ✔️

🔹Rhetoric is a artful and systemic, creative and effective discipline that asks us to consider questions of value, of right or wrong, guilt or innocence, knowing or ignorance - approaching these with honesty and a sincere self-awareness, not only of ourselves, but [also] of the people we disagree with, even if we disagree so strongly.

🔹Rhetoric thrives in the civic bedrock of democracy and social discourse, it lives in the foundation of any organization or society that values the thoughts and opinions of it's members.

By taking our Course you will learn that not all "good" speakers are good Rhetoricians, therefore our intense and unique program is a good opportunity to train, refine your own practice, and equip yourself with crucial skills and techniques that will bring immense value, efficiency, happiness and fulfilment to any and all activities - whether in your relationships, career, or private engagements!

RHETORIC COURSE WEEK 3

This week marked a successful end to our course week 3, and subsequently a smooth transition into the last and final course week.

We brought an effective end to course Module 2 (Composition Style & Structure) after investigating at length the last four Canons/Pillars of Rhetoric i.e.

1- Dispositio (Disposition/Arrangement)

2- Elocutio (Elocution/Style)

3- Memoria (Memory) and

4- Actio (Delivery).

Week 4 is knocking and we are all but charged to round it all off in a powerful and exciting style!💪🏽

QUESTION:

What truly lies behind your self-expression doubts and fears?!

REPLY:

This question has been asked over and over, and we still believe as always, that there's no single pinpoint reason one could give, but there's rather a cocktail. And most important than the DOUBTS is to know that there's real HOPE for improvement.

Let's move to therefore explore some useful facts together:

1- Low Self-esteem: A low self-estimate impacts negatively on your vibrance, casts doubts over your credibility, and tends to overshadow your suasive efforts overall.

🔹The key here is to believe in yourself first, have passion for the idea(s) or cause(s) you are championing, and get yourself a role model you can always draw inspiration from through your Rhetorical journey.

2- Limited to Zero Rhetorical Skills and Techniques: Without proper orientation and grounding in the dynamic principles of Rhetoric, it is impossible for you to display the skill and expertise of a Rhetorical Genius, and your fears will always boil over so palpably to the audience whenever faced with a public engagement assignment.

🔹But consistent study and training under an experienced Rhetor/Coach will transform your experience and build your confidence.

3- Hormonal Imbalances and Emotional Disorientation: Rhetoric is about honestly cultivating deep and authentic connections with your audiences. Whenever we are disconcerted and not focused during a Rhetorical assignment, it becomes impossible to exert reasonable sway and desired influence over the crowd. It is first your inner composure, grounding, and coherence that create an aura of inspiration around you to then exercise grip on the audience and move their minds, emotions and will to your commanding tune. And once you have them in this benevolent, docile and agreeable state, you can then move to assert your confidence(s).

🔹Strengthening your Quotient of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) will make you more intentional about your actions and responses, making you immune therefore to the pressures of failure, judgement and perfectionism. It is only when you are fully self-aware and wholly present that you can consciously and cautiously exercise your superior right to choose - Absolute wisdom and discretion are exhibited only when the Will is strong and uncompromised, and this is the exclusive providence of a high EQ.

4- Meager to No Preparation Time: Failing to prepare is preparing to fail. This is true for all real life scenarios.

🔹Pursue adequate preparation both in terms of acquiring the right set of general Rhetorical precepts and training, and in terms of focused dress-rehearsals for a particular Rhetorical assignment at hand. Our very practical and inclusive course program will fully equip you for Rhetorical assignments of all manner and intensity, including the notoriously terrifying and unpredictable case of ad hoc/extemporaneous speeches and experiences.

If you found this helpful and so wish to subscribe for more technical detail and professional support, we got you covered. Simply sign up NOW for our practical, inclusive and transformative course program in "Rhetoric: The Art of Persuasive Writing and Speech" and acquire the vital skillset and capacity to become a forceful speaker and effective leader driving impact and excelling with distinction in all areas where others are floundering.

Book yourself a slot in our February Cohort for any one of the three arrangements specified in the poster below. Your passion and subscription will further be incentivized with a free copy of our primary course book the "50 Critical Pointers to Rhetorical Genius" the link to which you may find deposited in the comments section to give you a head-start into the course. The same can be found in leading Ugandan bookshops.
