Thousands of Burundian refugees have been forced to leave Tanzania after the closure of Nduta camp.
Reports say many were pressured or forcibly returned to Burundi, despite concerns about safety. The move is part of a plan to repatriate around 100,000 refugees, with remaining camps also set to close soon.
The UN says returns should be voluntary, but activists are raising serious concerns about coercion and human rights.
A developing humanitarian situation worth watching.

Raila Amolo Odinga — Baba of the People.
***********************************************
A son of Africa who walked with courage, spoke truth to power, and refused to be silenced. From the dark days of detention to the bright dream of democracy, he carried Kenya — and Africa — in his heart.
He wasn’t perfect, but he was present. He fought, fell, and rose again, always believing in a freer, more connected Africa. As AU’s envoy for infrastructure, he didn’t just build roads — he built bridges of hope across the continent.
Baba, your journey reminds us that leadership is not about titles, but service.
Rise in Power with the ancestors, soldier of democracy. ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

In a bold move toward intellectual liberation, Mali’s President General Assimi Goïta announced that Grade 9 students will no longer study the French Revolution or French history. This decision marks a powerful step in reclaiming Africa’s educational narrative. For too long, our curricula have glorified colonial legacies while neglecting African heroes, civilizations, and struggles. It’s time we teach our children about the empires of Mali, Ghana, and Songhai — about African revolutions, resilience, and innovation. True independence begins in the classroom. Africa must rise by telling her own story, in her own voice.

Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o has joined the ancestors aged 87
A true son of Africa. A warrior of the word. He taught us that language is power—that to write in our mother tongues is to resist erasure, to reclaim our stories, to heal our souls.
They jailed him, exiled him, but never broke him. His pen remained sharp, his voice remained loud—for the peasant, the child, the freedom fighter.
Ngũgĩ reminded us that decolonization begins in the mind. His legacy lives on every time we speak boldly as Africans, in our own voices, on our own terms.
Travel well, elder🙏🏾. The struggle continues ✊🏾

Robert Sobukwe: A True African Hero 🙏🏽✊🏾
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today, let's reflect on the life and legacy of Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe, a man whose courage and vision changed the course of African history. Sobukwe was not just a leader; he was a symbol of great hope for a free and united Africa.
He believed in the power of Africans to reclaim their dignity and destiny. As the founder of the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC), Sobukwe stood boldly against apartheid, knowing full well the cost of his resistance. Even when the apartheid regime tried to silence him—isolating him on Robben Island for years—his spirit remained unbroken.
Sobukwe's strength reminds us that real change demands sacrifice. He showed us that we must always fight for justice, even when the odds seem impossible. His dream wasn’t just about freedom—it was about unity, pride, and reclaiming our identity as Africans.
His words, “Africa belongs to Africans,” still resonate deeply. They remind us to honor our roots, stand together, and keep pushing for a better future for all.
Let us never forget his sacrifices, his resilience, and his great belief in us. Rise in Power brother Sobukwe. Your legacy will forever inspire us to do better for Africa. 🌍✊🏿
