Celebrating Diversity and advancing Compassionate Care in Africa! ✨🌍
On 22nd August 2025, the Institute of Hospice & Palliative Care in Africa (IHPCA) together with Hospice Africa Uganda hosted a Cultural Dinner under for the continuing students during the face to face on the theme “Go Light Up the World.”
The evening brought together 36 students from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, and Zambia — celebrating culture through song, dance, food, and storytelling. More importantly, it was a moment to reflect on the vision of our founder, Dr. Anne Merriman, whose legacy reminds us that palliative care is for all in Africa.
Our Executive Director thanked the MSc and BSc students for their commitment to studying palliative care, and pledged continued support as we work together to ensure that every person in Africa has access to holistic and compassionate care.
We are grateful to our students, partners, and friends for making this celebration a success. Together, we will continue to light up the world with love, care, and hope.
