In Africa’s embrace, I found my calling clear,
A journey of my being, a fierce ignite to my soul
To lands unknown, where hearts beat as one,
In the rhythm of life, under the African endless sun.
Uganda is a place of closed doors,
yet Heaven’s gate wide opened.
Unforeseen miracles turn situations around,
people’s fate moved as people’s faith abounds.
Overflowing joy is seen, felt, not mean
Conversely, brutal reality bridges from
An unexplainable gratitude yet an empty fridge
Who am I to question life’s thickness?
Who am I to question the tangible ruthlessness of existence?
Life takes place, dry and uncut.
Little ones face hardship, under no shortcut
Death is in business and those angels, a witness
There was I, planting seeds of change,
From laughing to crying, in an intense exchange,
Healing wounds, through love, I have also found mine
Perhaps my bit, although a seed, may produce a harvest of life
For in giving, we receive, a lesson profound,
In Africa’s embrace, grace and joy abound.
To be changed from the within, a gift so grand.
Let me embrace, and breathe, to this chance to expand.
