Despite the lack of hair, Canadian sphinxes can color any color and pattern at any age. The color and / or pattern of the cat is visible in the skin pigment and several hairs present. One of the most frequently asked questions about sphinxes is: "Aren't they freezing?" It is easy to answer - if you are cold, it will probably be cold for a hairless cat. However, these cats are smart enough to find a warm place in the house by curling up with a dog, cat or warm person [1].

Most likely, this is due to single natural mutations, which were subsequently maintained and preserved in the offspring by selection. Now the offspring of hairless parents are also born without hair, although it may also be present in varying amounts on the muzzle and tail.
