Punctuation in Russian plays a significant role in reading comprehension. Without punctuation marks, written speech will merge into a single stream that will not be easy to understand. In some cases (such as in the picture😀), different punctuation marks give different meanings to what was written, and the text becomes ambiguous. It's true. If you hear somewhere in Ukraine that someone says “pearl by the sea”, he is definitely talking about Odesa.

Linguists advise to avoid the active verbs of the present tense that do not belong to the Ukrainian language and end in -ачий, -ячий, -учий, -учий (бачачий, спляча, слабнучий, наступаючий).
▪️ The New Year does not "наступає", but "приходить" or "настає".🙂
▪️ Ukrainians traditionally greeted each other on the eve of the holidays with greetings without the additional sign of "future" and so on.
▪️ Most Ukrainians celebrate Christmas on January 7.
So, if you want to congratulate your family, friends and colleagues in Ukrainian on the approach of the holiday, use the options mentioned above)
