Antelopeee

The body of antelope is covered with short stiff fur, the color of which is dominated by bright vivid colors from reddish-brown to chestnut and blue-black.

The largest antelope, the common antelope (Taurotragus oryx), has a height of 1.6 m, a body length of about 3 m, and the weight of individual specimens reaches 1 ton. The height at the withers of the dwarf antelope (Neotragus pygmaeus) is only 25-30 cm, and the weight of the dwarf antelope varies between 1.5 and 3.6 kg.

Despite the fact that different species of antelope belong to different genera and subfamilies, they all have some distinctive features. Some animals have a graceful physique, others heavier and more massive, but all antelopes have long, slender legs.

Antelopes are mostly "light" and herd animals of open spaces (steppes, semi-deserts), some - mountain; sizes are very different - from the size of a hare to a bull.

The kinship of antelopes is sometimes very distant (collective group), and their external similarity is due to the similarity of living conditions. That is, it is an ecomorphological type.

Previously, all antelopes were combined in one subfamily Antilopinae. Now it is the ability to extend them to several contractors, but there is no common scheme for such distribution.
