Victoria Falls: Zambia and Zimbabwe
This landscape is unsurprisingly one of the top places to visit in Africa. Nestled between Zambia and Zimbabwe on the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls – also known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya ("The Smoke that Thunders") – is so vast that you can spot the iridescent mist from miles away. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is recognized as the largest sheet of falling water in the world, and its cascades and basalt gorges are accordingly magnificent. Victoria Falls can be risky to explore if you're not careful, but those up for the challenge can head to Knife-edge Bridge for breathtaking panoramas.
