See how other couples dance in competitions. Study videos from major competitions. Notice familiar shapes, observe the "bundles". Memorize and try to insert into your composition. From several other people's ideas, your own can appear.

Ask questions.
The teacher is here and is here to help you understand the difficulties that have arisen. He, of course, will try to notice them himself, but this is not always possible. Therefore, if something confuses you, or you do not understand something, ask. This will help the teacher to build classes more competently, and you will learn to dance faster. The stupidest question is “not asked”.
