The main tourist interest in Kemer is represented by archaeological monuments, natural landscapes and the infrastructure of beach-package recreation. The largest part of tourists comes from Russia and Ukraine, a few less from Germany and Sweden.

To the west, Kemer is surrounded by the relatively high Ta**us Mountains, so the prevailing winds are east and south-east. In summer, there are very few windy days, in autumn and winter, the wind increases.

Summer in Kemer is sunny, dry and very hot, the temperature in the afternoon sometimes exceeds 40 °C in the shade. Clear weather in Kemer dominates most of the year (except for the winter months). Winter in Kemer is usually accompanied by barely noticeable frosts, frosts (even small ones) and snow are very rare. The temperature of sea water in the coastal zone varies from 9-12 °C in winter to 23-26 °C in mid-summer.

Kemer is located in the zone of the Mediterranean climate, but, despite its geographical proximity to Antalya, it has special features: the monsoon climate is weaker, precipitation is almost a quarter less compared to Antalya (especially in the winter months).

Until the end of the 1960s, it was possible to get to Kemer only by sea. With the development of the Turkish Riviera as a resort area, the D400 highway was built, connecting the entire southern coast of Turkey, including Kemer. In the 1990s, Kemer (with adjacent settlements) turned into one of the largest tourist centers. In 2010, 3 new tunnels were built on the Antalya-Kemer highway section, thanks to which the capacity of the road increased significantly and its accident rate decreased.

The permanent population of the city is slightly more than 20 thousand people, however, in the summer-autumn season, the number of people in the city is many times higher due to the active tourist flow.
