Summer in Kemer is sunny, dry and very hot, the temperature in the afternoon sometimes exceeds 40 °C in the shade. Clear weather in Kemer dominates most of the year (except for the winter months). Winter in Kemer is usually accompanied by barely noticeable frosts, frosts (even small ones) and snow are very rare. The temperature of sea water in the coastal zone varies from 9-12 °C in winter to 23-26 °C in mid-summer.

Until the end of the 1960s, it was possible to get to Kemer only by sea. With the development of the Turkish Riviera as a resort area, the D400 highway was built, connecting the entire southern coast of Turkey, including Kemer. In the 1990s, Kemer (with adjacent settlements) turned into one of the largest tourist centers. In 2010, 3 new tunnels were built on the Antalya-Kemer highway section, thanks to which the capacity of the road increased significantly and its accident rate decreased.
