The modern landscape of Cappadocia began to take shape in the Alpine era of mountain building. The Pontic Mountains (northern Turkey) and the Ta**us (southern Turkey) appeared. Between these mountain systems with the help of ladder magmatism with the formation of the Anatolian Plateau. The modern landscape of Cappadocia began to take shape in the Alpine era of mountain building. The Pontic Mountains (northern Turkey) and the Ta**us (southern Turkey) appeared. The Anatolian Plateau was formed between these mountain systems by trap magmatism. Plane outbursts of magma further raised the area above sea level, which further intensified exogenous processes. In planar magmatism, however, cells were formed - stratovolcanoes Erjias, Gasandag, Meleniz. The result of the work of all volcanoes - stratovolcanoes and planar magmatism - was the appearance of volcanic tuff and basalt foci [3].
