📚💧 Third Curriculum Committee Meeting | First of 2026
The Zanzibar–German Technical Education and Training Cooperation held its third Curriculum Committee Meeting and the first session of 2026 at KIST, focusing on the development of a new Water & Wastewater Technology curriculum for NTA Levels 4–6.
A special thanks to ZAWA, Rand Water Zanzibar, AVT Teltow, ZATI, Global Water Center, KIST, GIZ, EMASUD, and VTA for their valuable contributions and continued collaboration.

🌍💧 Zanzibar–German Technical Education and Training Cooperation at Z-Summit | 11–12 February
We proudly participated in the Z-Summit to share insights on sustainable water and wastewater management and highlight our joint project supporting Zanzibar’s tourism and hospitality sector through strengthened technical education.
Our focus: building practical skills that promote responsible resource use and long-term environmental sustainability in tourism. ♻️🏨💦

“Green Tourism: Are YOU doing enough action or not?”
The discussion explored:
• Is sustainability a moral duty, business strategy, or marketing trend?

📌 Third Steering Committee Meeting of the Project | First of 2026
Today, the Zanzibar–German Technical Education and Training Cooperation Project, a partnership between ZATI, KIST, and AVT Teltow (Germany), held its Third Steering Committee Meeting at KIST, marking the project’s first Steering Committee session of 2026.
The Committee comprised representatives from AVT, ZATI, KIST, ZAWA, and Glorious Polytechnic College (GPC) to review project progress, address challenges, strengthen coordination, and jointly plan the next phase of project activities 🗂️📈.
Next steps and planned actions include:

Today, at ZSSF Kariakoo, Zanzibar, the Zanzibar–German Technical Education and Training Cooperation Project—a partnership between ZATI, AVT Teltow (Germany), and KIST—is conducting an awareness workshop on the resource-conserving use of water and wastewater, alongside discussions on job profiles in the tourism and hospitality sector.
Tourism stakeholders are coming together to exchange knowledge, promote sustainable water practices, and explore career opportunities that support Zanzibar’s growing tourism industry.

Second Steering Committee Meeting at KIST
Today, the Zanzibar–German Technical Education and Training Cooperation Project held its Second Steering Committee Meeting, serving as the project’s governing body and providing strategic alignment between AVT, KIST, and ZATI.
The team reviewed project achievements, training progress, curriculum development, awareness activities, and upcoming plans including field visits, the finalization of NTA curricula, and the production of awareness videos.

Today, 2nd December 2025, the Curriculum Committee held its second meeting at KIST as part of the Zanzibar–German Technical Education and Training Cooperation Project. The session focused on reviewing progress and strengthening the development of the new Water & Wastewater Technology curriculum.

💧 Week Three in Action – Second Group of Pedagogical Training! 🚀
Today, our Project Manager joined the session and interacted directly with the second group of trainees.
It was a productive and engaging moment — trainees asked important questions, shared insights, and received valuable guidance as they continue preparing for the upcoming Technical Training in water and wastewater management.
Strong engagement, strong teamwork, and strong motivation as we move forward! 🌍💦

💧 Continuation of Second Group of Pedagogical Training! 🚀
The second group of pedagogical training is underway at KIST (Nov 10 – Dec 5, 2025), following the successful first group (Aug 11 – Sep 12, 2025). This program prepares participants for Technical and Vocational Training (TVET) in water and wastewater management.
The four-week program strengthens teaching and facilitation skills, equipping trainers to deliver high-quality vocational education.

💧 First Steering Committee Meeting
Today, 15 October 2025, we proudly held the first Steering Committee meeting of the Zanzibar–German Technical Education and Training Cooperation Project at the Karume Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Zanzibar! 🇹🇿🤝🇩🇪
The Steering Committee serves as the governing body of the project, providing strategic guidance, ensuring alignment among AVT, KIST, and ZATI, and monitoring progress towards project objectives.
During the meeting, various agenda items were discussed, including project progress, milestones in curriculum development, instructor training, and awareness activities within the tourism sector. Committee members actively contributed, shared insights, and engaged in discussions to further strengthen the project’s impact.

🌍💧 Pre-Consultation for Technical Training
Today we held a pre-consultation meeting for the upcoming Technical Training in Water & Wastewater Management.
🤝 Experts from the Global Water Centre, our key partner KIST (Karume Institute of Science and Technology), and the project team came together to align on the program.
🏫 The visit also included a tour of key facilities that will play an important role in supporting the training.
