WHY TREES ARE IMPORTSNT?
Climate change is a long-term increase in the Earth's average temperature that leads to changes in the entire climate system, which often results in adverse effects on society such as droughts, floods, increased carbon dioxide, loss of wetlands and landslides. to the snow.
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing our society and the Earth as a whole. Depletion of forests due to unsustainable forest harvesting, increase in industrial activities in the world, decrease in snow, changes in rain patterns, floods, and drought among many communities in the world have been causing negative effects of climate change.

For our community to survive these challenges caused by climate change, environmental experts from NEMC suggest that one way is to plant trees in abundance in our communities to save the lives of other living creatures as well as humans.

In addition to having many benefits such as protecting water sources, absorbing rain, being a habitat for various living organisms, and providing wood energy, charcoal and wood, trees also help to absorb and store carbon dioxide produced by humans due to their various activities.

The effects of carbon dioxide include the depletion of the Ozone layer and causing the strong rays of the sun to reach the surface of the earth, which causes an increase in temperature and the drying of plants, drought and even diseases. planting trees will cause the loss of all living things.

However, most of the water sources start from places with many trees (forests) in the mountains where they start as water springs then streams and then the water flows like a river. The function of the trees is to prevent the water from sinking into the ground (roots) and also the leaves of the trees prevent the water from being taken as steam.

Planting and conservation of forests is one of the most important steps in dealing with the problem of drought in many countries south of the Sahara desert, including Tanzania, and already the country through the Environment Agency has started effective strategies to plant trees throughout the country starting from schools under the campaign that says "READ NA MTI" which was already launched by the Minister responsible for managing the Environment Dr Seleman Jafo. The planting and presence of forests in our communities contribute to 47 per cent of the world's forest carbon reserves and provide 60 per cent of the wood used in the world's industries, which can be used to produce sustainable forest products to support the global process of entering an environment-friendly economy. Maintaining the balance between conservation and production in climate change requires a comprehensive and sustainable policy framework.
