⚽️ M A T C H D A Y ⚽️

🇩🇪 Gemeinsam mit unseren Schülern und Lehrern haben wir einen Ausflug zu einer benachbarten Schule gemacht, um gegeneinander Fußball und Netball (so etwas ähnliches wie Basketball) zu spielen. Die Schüler haben super Stimmung gemacht und wir hatten viel Spaß.

🇺🇸 Together with our students and teachers we went on a field trip to have a match-day against a neighbouring school. The students played football and netball (which is similar to basketball). We had a lot of fun together.

P R E F O R M O N E
🇺🇸 Like every year the new Pre-Form One students bring color and joy to our school. Since the end of September, they have been living and enjoying our environment here at the CVSS. They had some basic lessons in English, mathematics, science and swimming in the Indian ocean. We are very happy to have them here with us and hopefully, we’ll see them next year as our new Form One students. Welcome to Call and Vision!

🇩🇪 Wie jedes Jahr bringen die neuen Pre-Form One Schüler*innen Farbe zu unserer Schule. Seit Ende September leben sie hier und genießen die Zeit an der CVSS. Sie hatten einige grundlegende Lektionen in Englisch, Mathematik, Naturwissenschaft und Schwimmen im Indischen Ozean. Wir freuen uns sehr, sie hier bei uns zu haben, und hoffentlich sehen wir sie nächstes Jahr als unsere neuen Form One Schüler wieder. Willkommen an der Call and Vision!

OUR VOLUNTEERS
🇬🇧Here are the new volunteers team of the CVSS! Hendrik, Kiana, Paulina and Philipp are supporting the staff in the everyday school life.

Some of the main tasks of our volunteers are assisting in swimming and computer courses, as well as office work and building relationships with the students. While having conversations with the volunteers, the students can improve their English skills.

The volunteers are very happy to be here!

🇩🇪 Das hier ist das neue Freiwilligen-Team an der CVSS! Hendrik, Kiana, Paulina and Philipp unterstützen die Mitarbeiter im Schulalltag.

Die Hauptaufgaben unserer Freiwilligen sind Assistenz in Schwimm-, Computerkursen, sowie Büroarbeit und das Aufbauen von Beziehungen zu den Schüler*innen. Durch Gespräche mit den Freiwilligen können die Schüler*innen ihre Englischkenntnisse verbessern.

Die Freiwilligen freuen sich sehr, hier zu sein!

Das Schulgelände: DIE LABORE 🔬

🇩🇪 Angestrengt wird ins Mikroskop geblickt, als die Schüler versuchen, das, was sie vorher nur als Bild gezeigt bekommen haben, mit eigenen Augen zu sehen: In den Schullaboren gibt es immer etwas spannendes zu tun und deshalb sind die eher praktischen Unterrichtseinheiten dort ein Highlight für viele Schüler. Damit auch die Abiturjahrgänge in diesen Belangen geschult werden können, wird gerade das neue Gebäude für diese Stufen gebaut. Wenn du die Schule dahingehend unterstützen kannst, melde dich sehr gerne bei uns.

🇬🇧 Students are looking closely into the microscope to see with their own eyes what they have only seen on paper before: There is always something exiting to do in the laboratories and therefore, many students look forward to these practical lessons. In order to make these kind of lessons available for Form V and VI, we are constructing a new building. If you can support the school in this cause, feel free to contact us.

AUSFLUG NACH LINDI 🚐

🇩🇪 Am Samstag haben wir zum Halbjahresabschluss einen Schulausflug nach Lindi gemacht und dort unter anderem die Lindi Secondary School besucht. Mit und gegen die Schüler der anderen Schule wurde debattiert und Wettkämpfe in verschiedenen Sportarten durchgeführt, darunter Volleyball, Netball und Fußball.

Es war ein sehr fröhlicher Tag und ein schöner Abschluss, bevor die Schüler in ihre Halbjahresferien gehen.

🇺🇸 On Saturday, we went on a school trip to Lindi where we visited the Lindi Secondary School. The students of the different schools took part in various competitions, such as debate, volleyball, football and netball.

It was a very happy day and a great last trip before the school closes for holidays.

DAS ABITURGEBÄUDE NIMMT FORM AN🏗️

🇩🇪 Auf diesen Bildern seht ihr den Baufortschritt vom neuen Abiturgebäude. Vom Ausheben des Fundaments sind wir mittlerweile schon an der Konstruktion der ersten Etage angekommen! SPORT-EVENT🏅

🇩🇪 Vor nicht allzu langer Zeit durften wir hier and der Schule die FPCT Ruo Secondary School willkommen heißen. Gemeinsam haben wir ein Sportevent ausgetragen, bei dem die Schüler in verschiedenen Disziplinen gegeneinander antraten. Dazu gehörten eine Debatte, Volleyball, Netball und Fußball.

Gute Stimmung, Jubel und Sportsgeist schafften eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre und am Ende durften sich unsere Schüler sogar zum Gewinner küren - zumindest dieses Mal, denn wir werden bald selbst nach Lindi fahren, um uns erneut gegenseitig sportlich herauszufordern und Freundschaften zu vertiefen, die neu gewonnen worden sind.

🇺🇸 We were honoured to welcome our guests from the FPCT Ruo Secondary School in Lindi for a sports event!
The students competed in various disciplines such as debate, volleyball, netball and football to determine the winner of the event. Lots of cheers, fun and a great atmosphere made the event go really well and our students could even call themselves the winner of the event - at least for this time, as we will soon travel to Lindi to compete again and keep up with our newly acquired friends.

SPORTS AND GAMES⚽️

🇺🇸Here at school, a variety of games are played for the students and teachers to enjoy and to keep a fresh mind. An all time favourite is of course football, which is regularly played especially on the weekends by students and occasionally even between students and teachers - whereas, most of the time, the teachers don‘t stand a chance.
Other kinds of sports include volleyball and a local game called Rede.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank for sponsoring some new footballs and accessories! Thank you very much and may God bless you!

🇩🇪 Hier an der Schule werden in der Freizeit verschiedene Sportarten ausgetragen, um Spaß zu haben und um mal den Kopf auszuschalten. Ein absoluter Favorit ist hier natürlich Fußball, das an den Wochenenden regelmäßig von Schülern und ab und an sogar zwischenn Schülern und Lehrern gespielt wird - wobei die Lehrer allerdings leider selten eine Chance haben.
Andere Sportarten umfassen zum Beispiel Volleyball oder auch „Rede“, ein einheimisches Spiel, das ein wenig Völkerball ähnelt.

Wir möchten diese Möglichkeit auch nutzen, um uns ganz herzlich bei zu bedanken, die der Schule einige Bälle und Zubehör mitfinanziert haben! Vielen Dank und Gott segne euch.

FIRST AID EDUCATION⛑️

🇺🇸 Last week, some Form I students prepared a presentation about applying first aid and performed situations in which they showed how to react accordingly in emergencies, on stage.
It was very nice to see the students putting effort into their plays and explanations. Thank you, Form I!

🇩🇪 Letzte Woche haben einige Form I Schüler eine Präsentation über die korrekte Anwendung erster Hilfe vorbereitet und dazu auf der Bühne einige Situationen geschauspielert, in denen entsprechende erste Hilfe-Maßnahmen ergriffen wurden.
Es war wirklich schön, die Schüler so viel Herzblut in ihr Schauspiel und ihre Erklärungen stecken zu sehen. Vielen Dank, Form I!

THE GIRLS DORMITORY: ALMOST READY TO USE

🇺🇸 The construction of the new Girls Dormitory is as good as finished; the only thing holding the girls back from moving in is still unsufficient money for beds. Some beds already arrived thanks to generous sponsors but there are still many to be bought, so if you can help to sponsor a bed, feel free!

On the pictures in this post you can see the progress the Dormitory has made over the recent time.

🇩🇪 Die Konstruktion des neuen Mädchenwohnheim ist so gut wie abgeschlossen; die Mädchen können nur noch nicht einziehen, weil noch Geld für Betten fehlt. Einige Betten kamen dank großzügiger Spenden schon an, aber es gibt immer noch Betten, die noch nicht finanziert sind! Uns ist deine Hilfe sehr willkommen.

Auf diesen Bildern sieht man den Fortschritt, den das Wohnheim in der letzten Zeit gemacht hat.

the school compound: SCHOOL SHOP 🛒

🇺🇸 Right between assembly hall and administration block, a rather small building with great surprises inside catches one‘s eye: the school shop.
In between breaks, students and teachers can refresh themselves with cold drinks and snacks or refill their stock of school supplies. Regularly, some students are also assigned to help the shopkeeper Mrs. K., which enables them to learn business in a small matter and therefore might benefit their potential future job choices in economic sectors.

🇩🇪 Zwischen Assembly Hall und Administrationsblock kann man ein kleines Gebäude erblicken, das voller Überraschungen steckt: Der Schulshop.
In Pausen können Schüler und Lehrer sich mit Snacks und kalten Getränken erfrischen oder ihre Schulutensilien nachfüllen.
Außerdem werden einige Schüler zugeteilt, der Ladenadministratorin Mrs. K. beim Verkauf zu assistieren, sodass sie in einem kleinen Rahmen Wirtschaftsgrundsätze erlernen. Das kann sie bei einer potenziellen Entscheidung für einen Beruf im Wirtschaftssektor positiv beeinflussen kann.
