KCMC University, in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, and University of Ghana has launched an initiative aimed at strengthen capacity for Immunology and vaccinology in Africa focusing in Tanzania and Ghana. This initiative will offer scholarships to train a total of 20 Tanzanians by 2032 at the University of Copenhagen to strengthen country’s capacity for Immunology research especially on vaccine design and production.

Speaking during a three-day course on innovation bringing together health professionals from Tanzania, Ghana, and Denmark, Dr. Godfrey Temba said that Tanzania has a significant need for immunology specialists. He noted that the introduction of the programme will help produce highly skilled professionals capable of conducting research and contributing to addressing health challenges.

He added that the initiative is part of KCMC University’s efforts to strengthen training and research in the health sector, while also building Tanzania’s capacity to develop specialists who can contribute to advancements in health technologies, including vaccine development.
