Tanzania Eco Health Students Club

Tanzania Eco Health Students Club Tanzania Eco Health Students Club is club formed by students from various fields related to health of ecosystem.

This Club aim to raise awareness on improving ecosystem health through multidisciplinary and transdiscplinary collaboration. The EHSC seeks to help driving the transformational changes for continuous improvement of humans, animals and ecosystem through multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach; achieving the key principles of systems thinking, transdisciplinary research and participation, gender and social equity and knowledge to action without the necessary thrust to policy influence.

OH club through World Food and Agricultutral Organization (FAO) response initiative and in collaboration with OHCD, MoLF, Moshi District Council and OHCEA conducted a mass rabies vaccination campaign in responce to reported rise of Rabies cases in Moshi district, Kilimanjaro region. A total of 50 students and 4 instructors from MUHAS and SUA conducted a five days vaccination campaign between 29th April and 4th May 2018 and managed to vaccinate about vaccinate 7758 canine (6701 dogs and 1057 cats) in 6 wards. The team also gathered information using focus group discussion on awareness of the diseases to dog owners.
