ESAMI Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa - Esami-trapca We are a highly specialized trade policy and trade law training institution.

The ESAMI-Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa (ESAMI-trapca) is a Centre within the Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI), which is an intergovernmental institute that is ISO certified and recognized by UNECA as a Centre of Excellence. ESAMI-trapca was inaugurated in December 2006, with the mandate of providing training and technical expertise on trade issues to professionals

in the least Developed Countries (LDCs) and low income Sub-Saharan African countries. Situated in Arusha, ESAMI-trapca is owned by ESAMI and in partnership with Lund University in Sweden. Since its inception made possible by ESAMI and Sida partnership, ESAMI-trapca has focused its efforts on building long-lasting and sustainable solutions to economic challenges and aspirations of indigent sub-Sahara African countries.

ESAMI Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa - Esami-trapca was honoured to host the official opening of the Economic Diplomacy Training Programme for Uganda’s Trade Attachés 🇺🇬🤝🌐

The occasion was graced by H.E. Ambassador Anne Katusiime, Uganda’s Consul General in Arusha 🎖️, and Commissioner Cleopas Ndorere, Commissioner for External Trade at Uganda’s Ministry of Trade Industry and cooperatives uganda-MTIC 🏛️📈

The specialised programme is being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Trade Industry and cooperatives uganda-MTIC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Uganda, through the Uganda Consulate General in Arusha 🇺🇬🤝

The training is designed to strengthen the capacity of Uganda’s Trade Attachés to serve as effective:

Today, Monday, 13th July 2026, marks the official launch of another cohort of the ESAMI Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa - Esami-trapca MSc Pre-requisite in Trade Policy and Trade Law - a Fully Funded Opportunity bringing together the continent's emerging trade leaders.

MSc Pre-requisite in Trade Policy and Trade Law (TRP400) is the entry point into ESAMI Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa - Esami-trapca’s prestigious academic pathway in international trade. The course is delivered through the ESAMI-trapca e-learning platform over a six-week period and comprises three key foundational modules: Introduction to International Trade Law, Economics of International Trade, and Trade Data Retrieval and Analysis.

Offered in both English and French, this programme provides an excellent opportunity for aspiring trade professionals to build a strong foundation in international trade. It is designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to navigate today's dynamic global trading environment.
