❤️ So much to be thankful for at Piperseeds!

This week, our kindergarten was filled with meaningful conversations about friendship and gratitude, cultivating a sense of community that is a big part of our vision for early childhood education.

🦃 This culminated in our first Thanksgiving Feast! Our founders, Ron and Grace, love bringing the warmth of this American tradition to our school.

At Piperseeds we celebrated with a special Thanksgiving lunch where our wonderful parents generously provided their favorite meals specially prepared for the children and teachers to enjoy together.

A massive thank you to all the parents who contributed delicious dishes. Your partnership is the foundation of our community, helping us fulfill our vision of a playful and joyful environment.

We believe that learning is a dynamic balance, and there is no better way to learn about connection, sharing, and thankfulness than through an authentic experience like this! 🌈

♥We're exploring emotions at Piperseeds

上週，孩子們用「美麗素材」（像是瓶蓋、石頭、鈕扣、軟木塞…）來拼出各種表情。透過這樣的活動，他們練習去認識、分辨，也開始學習表達自己的情緒。

小朋友常常會有很大的情緒，他們需要時間和空間去感受和消化。如果我們太快要求他們「不要生氣」或「不要難過」，孩子可能就會覺得這些情緒是不被接受的，久了反而會壓抑起來。

在 Piperseeds，我們希望孩子知道：所有情緒都是正常的。能夠說出、表達，並慢慢學會怎麼處理，這就是在培養面對挑戰的能力。這樣的練習，會幫助他們更有韌性，未來在學習和生活上都能更好地發揮。🥰

Recently, the children used loose parts to construct facial expressions as part of our exploration of emotions. By arranging buttons, stones, corks, and other beautiful stuff, they practiced noticing and naming feelings... both their own and others'.

Young children experience big emotions, and they need time and space to process them. When we rush to brush aside feelings like anger, frustration, or sadness, children may start to believe those emotions aren’t acceptable. Over time, this can lead to suppressing feelings and developing unhealthy ways of coping with life’s challenges.

At Piperseeds, we want children to know that all emotions are valid—and that learning to express, share, and work through them is part of being human. Helping children navigate emotions is important work. Resilience begins with learning that every feeling has a place, and every child deserves to have the tools to grow through them. 🥰

今天早上，校門再次為大家敞開，迎來新朋友的初次相聚，也重逢了許多熟悉的笑容。

孩子們、家長們與老師、園長，還有我們的創辦人 Grace 和 Ron，在教室裡互相認識、交流，讓校園一早就充滿了溫暖的氣息。看到熟悉的笑容、遇見新的朋友，讓我們的心都暖了起來。

明天就是新學年的開始，孩子們將踏上全新的學習旅程。我們迫不及待讓教室充滿著孩子們好奇的眼神、創意的火花，還有那份最純真而熱鬧的歡笑聲。

願 Piperseeds 的新一年，如種子萌芽般，茁壯成長。🌱

This morning we opened our doors to welcome both new and returning children and parents into the classrooms to meet with each other, their teachers, our principal, and of course Grace & Ron, our founders.

It was wonderful to see familiar smiles and meet new faces ready to join our learning community. Tomorrow the real magic begins.

We can’t wait to fill our classrooms with the sound of curiosity, creativity, and most likely a little joyful chaos. Here’s to a great year ahead at ! 🚀🥰

在 ，我們以主題式教學陪伴年幼的孩子探索世界，用貼近生活的方式，引導他們發展語言、激發好奇心，也慢慢建立起學習的自信。這些主題不僅豐富孩子的學習經驗，更為他們未來深入的專題探究奠定基礎。

最近，我們進行了「城市裡的生活」這個主題。孩子們透過繪本、討論、遊戲與創作，認識社區裡的重要場所與工作人員，了解這些人如何協助我們的生活順利運作。他們開始對「社區」這個概念有了初步的理解，也培養出對週遭人事物的關心。

為了讓孩子將學習延伸到真實世界，我們帶著他們走訪社區的郵局、派出所與消防局。這樣的「實地走訪」不同於傳統的遠足，更強調與人互動、觀察環境，讓孩子有機會提出自己的疑問，並從真實經驗中獲得回應。

當他們親手投遞一封信、看見警察叔叔的制服、聆聽消防隊員的故事時，不只是知識的累積，更是成長中珍貴的連結與體會。

At Piperseeds, thematic learning gives our youngest children a gentle, joyful way to make sense of the world. These connected explorations spark language, imagination, and confidence, laying a strong foundation for the deeper project work they’ll engage in as they grow.

Recently we explored the theme “In the City,” where children got to know the people and places that make up their neighborhood. Through stories, discussions, play, and art, they began to understand how communities work, and the important roles people play in helping others and keeping things running.

To bring this learning to life, we took a walk around the neighborhood, stopping at the post office, police station, and fire station. These are what we call site visits. These intimate, meaningful encounters give children a chance to ask real questions, make personal connections, and see their learning reflected in the world around them.

Whether mailing a letter, listening to how firefighters stay safe, or sitting in the police cruiser, these moments help children grow into thoughtful, curious citizens with a strong sense of place and belonging.

🧤🧹 農場主題探索中，孩子們的焦點從動物悄悄轉移到了農夫會使用的「工具」上！

在 Piperseeds，孩子的好奇心常引導著我們的教學腳步。老師們順應這份熱情，提供了安全的工具讓他們動手嘗試，把興趣轉化為學習。

看著孩子們專注地模擬農夫工作、實際運用工具照顧小院子，那份親身體驗帶來的學習與快樂，不言而喻。這就是我們相信的「做中學」的力量！🌱

🧤🧹 While our 2s and 3s were exploring farm life, their curiosity took an interesting detour. We found that they were really focused on the tools we introduced. Being responsive to children's interests is core to our approach, so we quickly add in a collection of safe tools for them to explore.

Just like little farmers hard at work, they used the tools to help care for our yard! Watching them concentrate so intently, the joy and learning happening through this hands-on experience were unmistakable. It captures our belief in the power of "learning by doing"!

🐓🌱The farm comes to Piperseeds!

最近，我們跟孩子一起快樂地探索Farm Theme: 農場主題！透過栽種蔬菜、認識農場動物、以及動手打造自己的小雞窩等等，孩子們用豐富而具體的方式體驗農夫的日常工作。

在有趣又充滿互動的活動中，孩子們不僅認識了各種動物，更學會如何關心和照顧牠們。同時，也從中感受到農夫對我們社區的重要性，培養出對農夫辛勤工作的感謝與尊重。

在Piperseeds幼兒園，我們相信最好的學習，就是在遊戲中認識世界，建立與社區的緊密連結！

Our 2s and 3s have been eagerly exploring farm life, learning all about farm animals and discovering the important ways farms help our community. Through planting seeds, caring for animals, and even building our own chicken coop, the children enjoyed playful, hands-on experiences that sparked curiosity and meaningful connections.

It was wonderful seeing the children's excitement as they learned about animals, how to care for them, and deepened their appreciation for the hardworking farmers who nurture our community every day.

Our 2s and 3s were exploring pets the last couple of weeks. We asked each of them to bring in their favorite "pet" (i.e. stuffed toy animal) to kindergarten with them for days of fun, play, and pampering!

The children learned a lot about pets, including how to take care of them by helping them take a bath! It was an important experience that helped our 2s and 3s learn about empathy and responsibility as pet owners.

Their favorite plush toys looked like they had a lot of fun!

Welcome Lucy and Andy, our classroom guppies. The children in our 2s and 3s group have been exploring different kinds of pets and animals, and talking about how to take care of them, building a sense of caring for nature and other living things.

Our outdoor space serves as a natural extension of our classroom, providing opportunities for hands-on exploration and creativity. On bright, sunny days we take our learning outside, where children eagerly engage in painting activities. Here, they are actively involved in the process, carefully mixing colors to prepare vibrant paints for their easel artwork.

Our toddlers have been discovering more about themselves and each other—a perfect way to begin our first month together in kindergarten at !

We started by exploring our facial features, how we express emotions, and how we use our senses to experience the world around us.

Using loose parts to create faces gave our toddlers a hands-on way to bring these ideas to life. Not only did this activity strengthen their fine motor skills, but it also introduced them to early art concepts, encouraging creativity and self-expression. 🎨✨

Congratulations to our co-founder, Ron Cheng, for being recognized as a Gold Star Alum from his graduate school.

As part of the Gold Star Alum Series, Erikson Institute highlights the accomplishments of alumni who make a positive impact in their field. Ron has just joined an inspiring list of accomplished educators who have graduated from Erikson’s graduate programs in early childhood education and child development.

Congrats, Ron! 🤩

After more than 10 years in investment management, Ron chose to follow a new path: early childhood education.
