Ruixi should be the Au Pair of the Year. The reason is clear - if you were to look for a model au pair, somebody who would embody every attribute needed as an au pair, you would have Ruixi.

Ruixi is our 3rd au pair from our 3rd separate agency (Cultural Care, Au Pair in America and now EurAupair). Our 2 other ones were great but I believe Ruixi is the best. We're spoiled. Hands down, au pair of the year. :) She's honest, reliable, safe and trustworthy. She cooks AMAZING meals for the kids (Jackson was nominated at having the best lunch meals at school). She's a great photographer and we are not short on amazing photos. She helps the kids with arts and crafts. She is truly a part of our family and loves spending time with us outside of working (and knowing the right balance of letting us have time by ourselves).

Additionally, she socializes with other au pairs and travels to experience life in the US. Most importantly, she LOVES our 2 kids and is patient, kind, caring and attentive to the specific needs of their ages (3 1/2 and 22 months). She drives Jackson to school with Arya in tow. Nothing is too much. Both kids love and listen to Ruixi. And finally, our mothers love Ruixi.
From speaking Mandarin with Claudia's mother to shooting the breeze with my mother, there is no circumstance where she doesn't thrive and shine.

I would like to nominate Shudan Wei our AuPair to be AuPair of the year. There are three key reasons I believe Shudan has been incredible in her ways to become a very close member to our family and done an outstanding job

1. Shudan is a highly conscientious worker and a fast learner. She has quickly leant on her own many different style of cooking using the various kitchen gadgets we have. She cooks both Chinese and Western. She know how to balance her cooking to ensure my daughter has a healthy diet that is rich in nutrients and delicious. She has never be late and always communicates well. I am a busy single Mom and sometimes my job requires me to work late. She has always been extremely reliable.

2. Shudan has a warm personality and genuine friendliness. Over the last year, she has become a confidant of my daughter. As my daughter is getting into her teenage years, in many ways Shudan is like an elder sister. She has attended all of Alissa’s performance and school events. This has made me very comfortable and is critical to have such great help as a busy single Mom

3. Shudan has also been very willing to take on chores around the house, whenever is needed. She is always open to learning new things and has a fantastic can do attitude. She is also incredibly sweet. She made cookies for my daughter on her birthday. She also often bake with my daughter as that is something my daughter enjoys. She had no baking skill when she first came to us.

We have thoroughly enjoyed having her with our household. It will be sad for us when she could not extend her time. We hope to continue to keep in touch because she really feels like family and we only wish the best to her.

我為在美的一年感到驕傲！💃💪

非常慶幸我能參加這個專案，使我現在能找到更好的工作，更為我過去在美國的一年感到驕傲，希望心動的你們不如馬上行動，想越多，就甚麼事情都做不成囉~ 😤

I remember when I just arrived in the United State, I was very scared. I was afraid of getting lost and everything I saw. I felt so helpless that I burst into tears at San Francisco airport. I was desperate for some support so I picked up the phone and dialed my home number. Over the line my father told me, “Give it a go. You’ve got nothing to lose.” His words gave me courage.

I appreciated that I have 2 very important friends- Joy and Vivian. they helped me a lot. I was also grateful to Brougham and Growney families for caring for me. I enjoyed living with Jane and Molly. I learned many things from them. Molly is 9 years old. Taking care Molly is a big challenge for me. She's smart, open-minded and active. Although we always fight each other, our relationship is still pretty good.

I know I’m sometimes childish and there were some misunderstanding or different opinions. Jane always taught me patiently. I also learned how to cook pasta from Tarry. She is Molly's god mother. She comes to our house almost every Thursday, and had dinner with Jane and Molly. Having three kids is not a easy thing, however, Growneys did a good job for that. Growneys is Jane and Molly's neighbors, they are very close, like a family. Rhonda is a patient, warmhearted person. Ken and Rhonda give full love to children as we can see. Eric, 13-year-old, is a big boy. Sometimes I would forget he was still a young kid. Brynne, 10 years old, always thought herself to be awesome, but sometimes she was afraid to do something...she must have been spoiled...Cameron is an 8-year-old active boy. He is my favorite child, because he is very smart, and is most nice to me.

Actually, I'm looking forward to having my own kids, and I will teach them in my own way plus the way Jane taught me. Taiwanese and American educational methods are very different. They actually have been fighting in my mind.

We have been to Florida twice this year, I met Jane's entire family. Jane's mom is a funny person. One could never run out things to say with her around. Crystal, Jane's younger sister, has a 5-year difference in age from Jane. Just like my sister and me, their personalities re also very different. Jane's younger brother, Malcolm, as 2 teenage children- Dick and Kala. He is a kind person, I recalled my uncle when I saw him.

I'm not an attentive person, but after this year, I think I became more patient than before. I hope it would be helpful in my life. I'm not afraid to speak English anymore. I will enjoy my changing after I go back to Taiwan.

【安親天使經驗分享】
過程的酸甜苦辣，現在回想起來都是值得的！💪

Au pair這一個名詞對我而言並不陌生，幾年前曾從外國友人口中得知這個方案，我們可以選擇任何一個國家去當au pair，並從中體驗當地的文化，學習語言，這對我來說是非常誘人的機會，縱使許多人懷抱著不看好的態度，但是並未阻擋我的決心，2007的夏天我飛往了美國。

安親家庭體貼的讓我與上一任au pair辦理交接，使很快讓我進入狀況。我的家庭成員是一位美國爸爸🇺🇸，一位台灣媽媽🇹🇼，以及兩個混血小孩。Owen和Ella有著天使般面孔👼🏻，大部分的時候都非常聽話，但是還是少不了time out的時候。我有許多體驗都是在這個家庭發生的，頭一次參加中西合併的婚體，頭一次參加baby shower等等，他們陪我度過許多快樂回憶。但是由於個人因素，我決定換家庭。

新家庭可說堪稱是聯合國，爸爸是匈牙利人🇭🇺，媽媽是德國人🇩🇪，兩個小孩是美國人，以及我這個台灣人。常常因為文化不同發生一些有趣的事情，也見識到所謂spoiled kid的刁鑽，這時候就得十八般武藝全上，才能停止鬧劇。在閒暇的時候常常與三五好友聚在一起喝咖啡，享受美好的天氣，甚至我們會一起去各地旅行。

不知不覺當中一年過去，心中是十分的不捨，好不容易培養的感情，結交的朋友，一切都得畫上句點。雖然如此，我還是很開心我完成了這一年，收穫良多，得到了新的體驗，開拓了視野，結交了許多不同國家的朋友，當然最重要的是英文的進步。中間過程的酸甜苦辣，現在回想起來都是值得的，一切端看自己的心態。😀
