【Celebrating the Class of 2026: NTUE International Graduation Ceremony】
On May 29, 2026, the Office of International Affairs at National Taipei University of Education (NTUE) hosted a warm and memorable International Graduation Ceremony to celebrate the achievements of our graduating international students.
The event brought together graduates, faculty members, and staff for an afternoon filled with joy, gratitude, and heartfelt memories. As students prepared to complete their academic journey at NTUE, the gathering offered a special moment to reflect on their experiences in Taiwan and celebrate this important milestone together with the NTUE community.
The celebration opened with warm and encouraging remarks from Chien-Han Chen and Ying-Yu Lin. They congratulated the graduating students on their achievements and expressed sincere appreciation for their contributions to the NTUE community. In their speeches, they encouraged graduates to move forward with confidence, resilience, and an open heart as they embark on new chapters in life, while reminding them that they will always remain part of the NTUE family.
A highlight of the gathering was the alumni sharing session by Dylan Byrd, an alumnus of NTUE’s International Learning and Teaching Program and currently a teacher at Yang Ming Senior High School. Drawing from his journey as an international student and educator in Taiwan, he shared valuable insights on career development, adapting to new environments, and embracing opportunities after graduation. His inspiring story encouraged graduates to stay curious, stay courageous, and continue pursuing their goals with determination.
The ceremony also included a certificate presentation and a group photo session. President Chen Ching-Ho attended the event in person to present awards and gifts to the graduates and join them for commemorative photos, adding a particularly meaningful touch to the celebration. These moments created a warm and joyful atmosphere, as graduates reconnected with classmates, professors, and friends while sharing memories of their time at NTUE.
Coming from diverse countries and cultural backgrounds, NTUE international graduates have enriched the campus with their perspectives, talents, and energy. Their journeys reflect not only academic achievement, but also personal growth, adaptability, and a spirit of global connection.
As the Class of 2026 moves forward to new journeys—whether pursuing further studies, starting professional careers, or exploring opportunities around the world—we extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for continued success and happiness.

【NTUE International Students Cultural Trip to Yingge Ceramics Museum & Old Street】
On Friday, May 1, international students from National Taipei University of Education, together with their Taiwanese student buddies, took part in a cultural learning trip to Yingge District in New Taipei City.
The visit began at the Yingge Ceramics Museum, where students explored a wide range of ceramic artworks and learned about the history and development of Taiwan’s ceramics industry. A highlight of the visit was a hands-on mosaic activity, where students created their own artworks using colorful mosaic pieces. This interactive experience allowed them to engage creatively with the material while gaining a deeper appreciation of artistic design, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
Afterwards, the group continued to Yingge Old Street, a well-known cultural area filled with traditional pottery shops and creative ceramic stores. Students enjoyed browsing handmade crafts, artistic tableware, and unique souvenirs, while also experiencing the distinctive local atmosphere of the old street. The visit also offered insight into how traditional craftsmanship is preserved and reimagined within modern creative industries, reflecting Taiwan’s dynamic cultural identity.
Throughout the trip, international students and Taiwanese buddies interacted actively, sharing conversations and cultural perspectives in a relaxed and friendly environment. They exchanged experiences about daily life, study culture, and personal interests, strengthening their connections beyond the classroom and fostering meaningful cross-cultural understanding.

【NTUE x NTUEEES: International Students Volunteer Service】
To promote language learning and cultural exchange, international students from National Taipei University of Education (NTUE) have recently joined as English tutoring volunteers for students at NTUE Experimental Elementary School (NTUEEES). Through interactive classroom activities and after-school tutoring sessions, these international students are helping young learners improve their English skills while also broadening their global perspectives.
The volunteer program was launched as part of NTUE’s commitment to internationalization and community engagement. By connecting university students from different countries with local elementary school children, the university aims to create a more diverse and inclusive learning environment. The program also provides international students with valuable opportunities to experience Taiwanese education and culture firsthand, while encouraging mutual understanding between different cultures.
During the tutoring sessions, the volunteers assist teachers by leading pronunciation practice, conversation exercises, vocabulary games, storytelling activities, and simple daily English conversations. Their presence brings authentic English communication into the classroom, allowing children to become more familiar with different accents, speaking styles, and cultural backgrounds. Many students expressed excitement about speaking directly with international volunteers and learning about their home countries, traditions, and lifestyles.
Teachers at NTUE Experimental Elementary School also praised the program, noting that the children are more motivated to participate in English activities when interacting with international students. They observed that students became more confident in speaking English and showed greater enthusiasm in class. Teachers believe that such real-life communication opportunities are essential for building students’ confidence, improving listening and speaking skills, and developing long-term interest in language learning.
In addition to improving English abilities, the program fosters friendship and cultural understanding between local and international students. Through simple conversations, games, group activities, and shared laughter, both sides gain valuable experiences that go beyond the classroom. International students also find the experience meaningful, as it allows them to contribute to the local community while building strong connections with Taiwanese students.
NTUE plans to continue and further expand similar volunteer initiatives in the future, encouraging more international students to contribute their talents to local communities. By combining education with service, the university hopes to cultivate global citizens who are not only academically capable but also socially responsible, open-minded, and culturally aware.
This English tutoring volunteer program has become a meaningful bridge between cultures, proving that language learning can be both educational and inspiring when supported by genuine human connection. It reflects NTUE’s dedication to creating an international campus environment and strengthening ties between the university and the local community.
