Counselors and Friends of StudyTour

Howdy Fellow Counselors and Study Tour Friends,

After 20 years of academic career in the U.S., I have recently moved back to hometown in Tainan, Taiwan to join the faculty of Cheng-Kung University, and be close to my aging parent.

Taiwan is certainly NOT the same as good old StudyTour days. To help easy my cultural shocks, recently I have contributed an article to Thinking Taiwan, the policy research forum of President-elect Tsai Ing-Wen's Foundation. The article is about making Taiwan a safer, and an int'lly friendlier society. It touches on the recent earthquake in Tainan, international workers, law changes, diversity and civility.

Long story short, Taiwan needs our help on its paths to reform.

I would appreciate your reactions on the article -- as did many readers leave comments on the article Website -- and/or additional ideas relevant to these subject matters, mainly hope Taiwan position itself in the era of internationalization. In due course I remain hopefully to bring our collective wisdom to the new executive and legislative administrations' attention.
