你有去過博物館嗎？
去博物館的時候，
也可以用另一個語言來敘述自己的體驗，
甚至在聽導覽的時候，
也可以用一個熟悉的外語來重新學習當地歷史，
這是我在2019年多語者會議學到的，
有一個女講者說他去法國博物館就用法文來想當時所有的事情跟體驗。

我上次跟朋友去人權博物館，
就想到這件事，
用導覽機，
語言切成英文來聽，
我發現那個感覺完全不一樣，
站在那個地方，
體會這那時候白色恐怖沒有自由的氛圍
用英文去體會那種惆悵，
我現在都還很難忘記。
Have you ever been to a museum?

When visiting a museum, you can also try recounting your experience in another language. Moreover, while listening to the guided tour, you can even use a familiar foreign language to re-learn local history. I learned this at a multilingual conference back in 2019. One of the female speakers mentioned that when she visited museums in France, she would use French to process all the events and her personal experiences at the time.

The last time I went to the National Human Rights Museum with a friend, this idea came back to me. I used the audio guide and switched the language to English to listen. I found that the feeling was completely different. Standing in that place, experiencing the atmosphere of repression and lack of freedom during the White Terror era, and trying to process that sense of melancholy in English—it's an experience I still find very hard to forget.

也很榮幸能與他們一起相處這五天

在多語者會議也聽到很多新的語言創意

像是有人會用唱歌學語言

還給了很多訣竅

或是AI手把手教學

讓你自己在家用AI指令學語言

真的是很值回票價的一趟旅程！

The past two weeks were really packed—

An explosion of information.

So many ideas coming in all at once.

I need to take time to digest everything

and come up with my own ways to put it into practice.

At the language retreat, I met so many amazing people working in the language field.

Our common ground is that we’re all building language-related careers.

Everyone has their own style of running things,

and we learned from one another and pushed each other to grow.

Most of us also maintain a great work–life balance,

which I truly admire.

I’m really grateful I got to spend those five days with them.

At the polyglot conference, I also heard lots of new and creative ideas about language learning—

like people who learn languages through singing,

and they even shared tons of helpful tips.

There were also hands-on AI-guided learning sessions,

showing how you can learn languages at home using AI instructions.

It was truly a trip worth every bit of the experience!

我很感謝我的公司，
總是會因為我的活潑性格邀請我去參加各種職業的語言訓練及發表，
現在連醫院都想要醫療人員國際化，
當評審我就想讓學員好好放鬆，
這是實踐我一個教學宗旨，
就是語言學習本就應該是好玩的這件事，
這也是很多學員喜歡跟我上課的理由之一，
甚至在活動結束後，
醫院長官也會跑來謝謝公司跟我說：
你們這次請的評審真的很棒，
很體貼學員，也很會帶動氣氛，
我很感謝喜歡我的學員/學生們，
我也會更努力提供更棒、有趣、跟有學習成效的課程給大家。
I’m very grateful to my company, which always invites me to take part in various professional language trainings and presentations because of my lively personality.
Nowadays, even hospitals are aiming to internationalize their medical staff.

As a judge, my goal was to help participants relax—
it was also a way for me to practice one of my core teaching beliefs: that language learning should be fun.

That’s also one of the reasons many students enjoy taking my classes.

After the event, hospital administrators came to thank my company and told me:
“The judge you sent this time was amazing—so considerate of the participants and great at creating a positive atmosphere!”

I’m truly thankful to all the learners who like my teaching,
and I’ll keep working hard to offer even better, more engaging, and effective courses for everyone.

補充分享語文競賽評審心得
因緣際會下來幫忙評中學演講比賽
加上自身教學經驗
並且看了學生的表現
發現台灣學生很容易講出單字
但是沒有辦法串好所有單字
所以學單字真的建議要搭配用法或句子一起知道在上下文裡面怎麼運用這個單字的
最後三個評審精細討論後
得獎的人很驚喜地全部落在公立學校
而非私立當前的狀態
是不是離我理想的教育平等更近一步了？
大家不用擠破頭報名私立了呢
By chance, I was invited to help judge a speech contest for middle school students. Drawing on my own teaching experience and observing the students' performances, I noticed that many Taiwanese students are quite good at recalling vocabulary words individually, but often struggle to connect them into coherent sentences.

This highlighted an important point: when learning vocabulary, it's really important to learn words along with their usage—how they function within full sentences and contexts—rather than just memorizing them in isolation.

After a detailed discussion among the three judges, we were surprised (in a good way) to find that all the winners came from public schools, rather than private ones.

Could this mean we're one step closer to the ideal of educational equality?
Maybe there's no need to fight so hard to get into private schools anymore.

今天邀請了信仰澳打教的Yumi來上節目了 因為勇於挑戰自己 他體驗到很多在出去台灣之前完全想不到的事物 對於語言學習也是更有興趣 更有趣的是 他是從無到有 到澳洲沒有英文基礎直接開始學 而且經過打工度假 他看事情的方法也跟以前不一樣了 趕快去聽Yumi教長分享吧
Today we invited Yumi, a believer in the “Australian working holiday faith,” to join our program. Because she’s brave enough to challenge herself, she’s experienced many things she never could’ve imagined before leaving Taiwan. She’s also become more interested in language learning. What’s even more interesting is that she started from scratch—she went to Australia with no English foundation and began learning directly there. Through her working holiday experience, her perspective on things has also changed compared to before. Hurry and listen to Yumi share her journey!

不知道大家知不知道一個日本的詞彙

叫做一期一會いちごいちえ

源自茶道文化

意思是：

人生中每一次相遇都是獨一無二的，

甚至不知道會不會有下次，

應當珍惜當下的相會。

我一開始聽到還覺得是每一陣子見一次的意思咧！

為何要提起這個詞呢？

是因為，我在人生很多時刻

都會把這茶道用語放在心上

在教學時也是如此

每個學生或學員都是不同的個體

每一次的相遇都是獨一無二的

所以我總是會把這件事放在心上

告訴自己

不論是對誰都是真誠以對

教課時不要混任何的時間

跟家人朋友出去時非必要不碰手機

因為我很珍惜跟大家的時間

Did you know the Japanese idiom "Ichigo ichie"?

It means that every encounter is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
We never know if there will be a next time, so we should cherish each moment we share with others.

Why am I bringing this up?
Because I carry this philosophy with me in many aspects of my life—especially in teaching.

Every student or learner is unique.
Every encounter is one of a kind.

So I always remind myself:
Be genuine with everyone.
Never dawdle when I teach.
When I’m with my family or friends, I avoid checking my phone unless it’s necessary.

Because I truly treasure the time I spend with others.

Let's cherish every moment we spend with the people around us. 🌸
