越來越多品牌開始透過可愛角色拉近與人們的距離,也就是我們在臺灣常說的「吉祥物」。在 AI 世代裡,這些角色不只是卡通形象,更逐漸成為科技與人互動的新方式,一起來看看這些可愛角色吧。

一直以來科技公司給人的印象,常常是冰冷、理性,甚至帶點距離感。
近年越來越多科技品牌,開始嘗試用「可愛角色」重新和使用者及顧客建立連結。像是 Microsoft 為 AI 助理 Copilot 推出了會隨情緒變色的光球「Mico」;
Apple 則悄悄在 TikTok 影片角落放上一個藍白色小角色,後來被網友命名為「Little Finder Guy」;
而韓國科技公司 Naver,也為購物平台設計了一隻會隨優惠變大的史萊姆角色。

這些角色看起來可愛,背後卻代表著科技產業正在重新思考:「當 AI 看不見、摸不到,人們要如何對它產生信任?」

專家指出,AI 時代最大的挑戰之一,就是科技越來越抽象。
過去,人們看得見手機、電腦與按鈕;
但現在,AI 更像一種存在於雲端中的「無形服務」。

因此,許多品牌開始希望透過角色設計,讓 AI 擁有「一張熟悉的臉」。

這些吉祥物不只是裝飾。
它們會說話、會表達情緒,甚至能依照使用者互動做出反應。
對品牌而言,這些角色更像是科技與人之間的「情感橋樑」。

研究甚至發現,擁有吉祥物的品牌,比起沒有吉祥物的公司,更容易提升市場影響力。尤其對年輕世代而言,可愛角色往往能降低科技帶來的距離感,吉祥物能讓品牌看起來更溫暖、更有人性。

有趣的是,人類天生就容易對「大眼睛、大頭」產生好感。

But recently, more and more tech brands have started using cute characters to build a closer connection with people.

For example, Apple introduced a blue-and-white character unofficially called “Little Finder Guy,” while Microsoft created a smiling blob-like character named “Mico” for its AI assistant Copilot.

Although these characters may look playful and cartoon-like, they represent a much bigger shift in how technology companies interact with users.

Experts say mascots can make brands appear warmer, friendlier, and more human.
Research has even shown that companies with mascots are more likely to increase their market influence compared to those without them.

This trend is not limited to tech companies.
From the famous owl mascot Duo from Duolingo to Mozilla creating a new mascot for Firefox, more brands are using characters to develop their own unique personalities.

In the age of AI, these mascots are becoming more than just images.
Some can now chat with users, interact in personalized ways, and even learn individual preferences, making technology feel more like a companion.

However, this change has also raised concerns.
Some people believe cute mascots help reduce the coldness of technology, while others worry that making AI appear more friendly may cause people to overlook issues such as digital privacy and commercial influence.

Interestingly, humans naturally respond positively to features like large eyes and oversized heads — traits often exaggerated in mascots to make them appear more lovable and approachable.

From cold digital interfaces to emotional and expressive characters, technology companies are rethinking what the future of technology should feel like.
Perhaps future technology will not only need to be powerful,
but also warm, familiar, and emotionally engaging.

每當談到跑車,許多人第一個想到的,或許就是Ferrari。低沉的引擎聲與流線車身,讓它成為速度與夢想的代表。隨著氣候變遷與汽車產業轉型,這個經典品牌,也正邁向嶄新的未來。

在許多人心中,法拉利是一種速度與夢想的象徵。
低沉的引擎聲、流線的車身,以及代表性能的紅色跑車,都讓這個來自義大利的品牌成為經典。
如今的法拉利,做出一個過去許多人難以想像的改變——推出品牌首款「純電動超跑」。

這輛名為「Luce」(義大利文中的「光」)的新車,從 2018 年開始構思,歷經超過五年研發,終於正式亮相,它不再使用傳統燃油引擎,而是改以四具電動馬達驅動,即使如此,依然擁有驚人的性能,從靜止加速到時速100公里僅需約2.5秒。

In many people’s minds, Ferrari is more than just a sports car brand.
The deep engine sound, sleek body design, and thrilling driving experience have made this Italian company a symbol of speed and dreams.

But now, Ferrari is making a change that many people once thought impossible —
introducing its very first fully electric supercar, the “Luce.”

The name “Luce,” which means “light” in Italian, has been in development for more than five years since the idea first began in 2018.
Instead of a traditional gasoline engine, the car uses four electric motors.
Even so, it still delivers incredible performance, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in only about 2.5 seconds.

For Ferrari, however, this change is not only about speed.
It is also about rethinking what the future of a supercar should look like.

Unlike traditional Ferraris, the Luce is a four-door, five-seat vehicle with a spacious interior that feels more like a futuristic luxury lounge.

為了2026世界盃,科學家們花了數十年研究草皮的長度、彈性、排水能力與耐踩程度,甚至模擬球鞋踩踏與室內球場的日照環境。
下個月,這場席捲全球的國際盛事即將登場,而在球星與歡呼聲背後,有一群重要功臣,因為他們,才能打造出承載全球最高等級足球賽事的完美球場。

⚽世界盃的綠色守護神:草地科學家

世界盃比賽中,除了球員與教練,還有一群人默默決定著比賽品質——那就是研究「草地」的科學家。
在2024美洲盃時,阿根廷球員曾抱怨球場草皮像「彈簧床」,影響控球與傳球。這也讓即將到來的2026世界盃主辦國美國、加拿大與墨西哥,開始更加重視球場草皮的品質。

為了避免再出現類似問題,研究團隊早在八年前就開始進行各種實驗,他們測量草的高度差距幾毫米會如何影響球的滾動速度;利用機器反覆模擬球鞋踩踏;研究不同草種如何面對高溫、潮濕與寒冷;甚至打造特殊室內環境,測試沒有陽光的球場該如何維持草皮生長。

原來,對足球場來說,「草太長」與「草太短」都可能改變比賽節奏,科學家形容,如果草地不夠理想,球可能像黏在地面;但如果太有彈性,又可能像在彈簧床上踢球。

由於2026世界盃將在北美16座不同球場舉行,每座城市氣候差異極大,因此研究團隊也必須設計不同的草地方案,炎熱地區使用百慕達草,寒冷地區則混合肯塔基藍草與多年生黑麥草;部分室內球場甚至需要使用LED植物燈,全天提供草地生長所需光源。

而這項研究,其實已經持續超過30年。

早在1994世界盃時,美國曾首次在室內體育館鋪設天然草皮。當時的研究人員從無到有,不斷測試排水、日照與草根穩定度,才成功完成任務。

對多數觀眾而言,草地只是背景,但對球員來說,那可能是決定速度、穩定性,甚至夢想能否延續的重要舞臺。
When we watch the World Cup, we usually focus on the players and goals.
But behind every match is another important team—the scientists studying the grass.

During the 2024 Copa America tournament, Argentine players complained that the temporary grass field felt like a “springboard,” affecting passing and ball control. This pushed the 2026 World Cup hosts—the US, Canada, and Mexico—to pay even more attention to pitch quality.

To prepare for the tournament, researchers have spent the last eight years testing different types of turf.

They measured how just a few millimeters of grass height could affect the speed of the ball. Machines repeatedly stomped on the grass to simulate football boots, while scientists tested how different grass species respond to heat, humidity, cold weather, and indoor stadium conditions.

Researchers discovered that grass that is too long or too soft can completely change the rhythm of a match.

Because the 2026 World Cup will take place across 16 stadiums in different climates, each field requires a unique solution.

Warm cities will use Bermuda grass, while cooler areas will use Kentucky bluegrass and perennial ryegrass. Some indoor stadiums even rely on special LED grow lights to help the grass survive without direct sunlight.

This research actually began decades ago.

Back in the 1994 World Cup, scientists successfully installed natural grass inside an indoor American football stadium for the first time. Since then, turf researchers have continued improving the science behind sports fields.

Today, FIFA has invested more than 5 million dollars into grass research for the 2026 World Cup.

To most fans, grass may simply look like part of the background.
But for players, it can influence speed, safety, performance, and even the outcome of the game itself.

當我們談到「環保城市」時,腦中或許會浮現樹木與綠地,但在立陶宛首都維爾紐斯,綠色轉型早已不只是停留在綠化環境。從利用昆蟲處理廚餘,到重新思考交通政策與能源使用,每一位市民,正以自己的力量參與行動。

🌳全民一起! 立陶宛首都的綠色革命
How Vilnius Is Redesigning Urban Life

位於立陶宛的首都維爾紐斯(Vilnius),最近成為歐洲最受矚目的綠色城市之一。
作為2025年「歐洲綠色首都」,這座快速發展的城市,已經證明一件事:環保與便利,其實可以同時存在。

近年來,維爾紐斯不只增加腳踏車道與綠地,更開始重新設計城市運作的方式,其中最特別的,是他們利用「黑水虻幼蟲」處理廚餘。
這些昆蟲能快速分解食物垃圾,並將其轉化成蛋白質、肥料與其他資源。自從新的廚餘分類系統上路後,當地居民已回收超過3500噸食物垃圾,大幅減少垃圾掩埋與碳排放。

Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, has become one of Europe’s most talked-about green cities.
As the European Green Capital 2025, the city is showing that sustainability and convenience can exist together.

In recent years, Vilnius has expanded bike lanes and green spaces while also rethinking how a city should function.

One of its most unique ideas is using black soldier fly larvae to process food waste.
These insects can quickly break down food scraps and turn them into useful resources such as protein and fertilizer. Since the city introduced a new food-waste sorting system, residents have collected more than 3,500 tonnes of food waste, helping reduce landfill waste and carbon emissions.

Vilnius is also transforming its energy system.
Its heating and power plants use wood chips, agricultural leftovers, and non-recyclable waste to produce electricity and heat, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and improving efficiency.

But perhaps the most important part is that citizens are involved in the process.
The city created a Citizens’ Assembly on mobility, where residents discuss questions such as: Why do people avoid public transportation? How can walking and cycling become easier? What kind of city is truly designed for people?

For Vilnius, becoming a green city is not just an environmental slogan—it is a long-term transformation of everyday life.

From children to older adults, more people are joining tree-planting activities, clean-up events, and community projects, helping create a greener future together.

Vilnius is proving that true sustainability is not only about technology, but also about people choosing to build a better future together.

有一家特別的洗衣店,專門清洗人們珍愛的玩偶,無論是褪色的皮卡丘、破舊的泰迪熊,還是沾滿污漬的布偶,都能在這裡獲得重生,不再面臨被淘汰的命運,創造出新的價值。

💗絨毛玩偶的第二人生
Where Stuffed Animals Are Treated Like Family

在日本,有一種已存在多年的特殊服務——專門清洗玩偶的洗衣店。
近期,一位表情嚴肅、動作卻極其溫柔的清潔師,讓這項服務在網路上爆紅。
在山梨縣與富士河口湖一帶,這些被稱為「職人」的清潔師,會一隻一隻細心處理玩偶,他們會用雙手感受布料的材質與狀態,輕柔地按摩、刷洗,就像在照顧嬰兒一般,確保每個細節都被照顧到,最後甚至用「富士山融雪蒸氣」進行蒸氣護理,讓玩偶恢復柔軟與潔淨。

A worn-out Pikachu plushie, tired teddy bear or stained stuffed animal can all get a new lease on life at a Japanese laundry service making beloved toys squeaky clean again.

Masakazu Shimura, a cleaning professional with three decades of experience, gave one stuffed Pokemon already in good condition a steam shower, carefully brushing it after a gentle bubble scrub, almost as if caring for a newborn baby.

Videos of the meticulous care the cuddly toys receive at his workplace, Cleaning Yonmarusan, have mesmerised plushy fans on social media, awarding the high-end fabric care viral fame and attracting customers from around the world.

Relying on his expertise and experience cleaning everything from dress shirts to camping tents, Shimura washes and restores the delicate fabric of soft toys.

"While hand-washing, I carefully feel what kind of material it is and assess the condition of the material and so on, gently massaging it with my hands as I wash it," he told AFP.

Shimura is among a dozen certified cleaning professionals at Yonmarusan, a regional chain in Yamanashi, west of Tokyo.

While the firm has been cleaning soft toys for decades, business has boomed thanks to viral social media posts in recent years on the back of a Gen Z adoration for plushies and Japan's love for everything cute and cuddly.

Today, the service cleans more than 10,000 soft toys every year, compared to roughly 1,200 annually a decade ago.

And some people even "come to Japan specifically for the purpose of having their soft toys cleaned", said Hisako Mori, the firm's public relations manager.

"While the cleaning is being done, they enjoy travelling around Japan. At the end of their trip, they pick up their stuffed animals before heading home."

Shimura said some clients wish to keep specific scratches or scribbles on their toys, as those marks sometimes carry precious memories.

"These items hold special memories. That's true for clothing as well, but even more so for stuffed animals, which we recognise our customers see as members of the family," he said.

"It's a process where we truly cannot let our guard down... When our customers are happy with the results, that's really the moment when we feel a strong sense of fulfilment."

In 2026, France introduced a new national strategy that connects what people eat with climate action.
The government realized that if they want to reduce carbon emissions, everyday food choices play an important role.

Research shows that agriculture produces about one-quarter of France’s greenhouse gas emissions,
and a large part of this comes from meat production.
Without changing eating habits, it will be difficult to reach climate goals.
So, France is starting from the dining table—
encouraging people to eat less red and processed meat and choose more plant-based protein.

There are also clear health guidelines:
adults are advised to eat no more than 500 grams of red meat and 150 grams of processed meat per week,
helping people stay healthy while enjoying their meals.

Looking ahead to 2030, France hopes to gradually reduce overall meat consumption
and encourage more people to eat vegetables, whole grains, and beans.

Beyond health and the environment, the policy also focuses on another issue—

在西班牙,每年夏天野火頻繁發生,高溫、乾旱以及農村人口減少,使森林中累積大量乾燥植被,形成極易燃燒的環境。一旦起火,火勢往往迅速蔓延,對生態與人類生活造成嚴重影響。

為了解決這個問題,一些地區開始採用一種看似傳統、卻極具創新的方法——讓驢子成為「消防員」!這些驢子每天在森林與山區中覓食,持續吃掉乾燥的草與灌木,從源頭減少可燃物的堆積,有效降低野火發生的風險。

例如在 Doñana 國家公園,自2014年開始引入驢子進行植被管理後,當地已經連續九年沒有發生森林大火。這樣的成果顯示,透過自然方式進行長期管理,可以帶來穩定且持續的效果,這樣的模式也逐漸擴展到西班牙其他地區,有些地方在引入驢子後,野火發生的次數明顯下降,甚至幾乎消失。專家指出,驢子能夠食用較乾燥、粗硬的植物,比牛或羊更適合清理這些容易助長火勢的植被,因此在防火工作中扮演重要角色。

Every summer, wildfires spread across Spain, burning large areas of land. Rising temperatures, drought, and the decline of rural populations have led to a build-up of dry vegetation, creating highly flammable environments. Once a fire starts, it can spread rapidly and cause serious damage to both ecosystems and human communities.

To address this problem, some regions have turned to a simple yet innovative solution — using donkeys as “firefighters.” These animals naturally graze on dry grass and shrubs, helping to reduce the amount of fuel that feeds wildfires. By removing this vegetation day after day, donkeys play a steady and important role in fire prevention.

In Doñana National Park, donkeys have been used for vegetation management since 2014. As a result, the area has not experienced a forest fire for nine years. This shows that natural, long-term approaches can be both stable and effective.

This model has gradually spread to other parts of Spain. In some areas, the number of wildfires has significantly decreased, and in certain cases, fires have nearly disappeared after introducing donkeys. Experts explain that donkeys can eat tougher and drier plants than cows or sheep, making them especially suitable for this task.

In today’s modern world, this example reminds us that not all solutions need to rely on advanced technology. Sometimes, working with nature and rediscovering traditional practices can offer simpler and more sustainable ways to protect our environment. By cooperating with nature, we may find better ways to safeguard our planet for the future.

最近,人類再次踏上月球的計畫引發全球關注,你是否也因此深深著迷於太空的奧秘呢?在地球上,其實有一個地方,被譽為最美的「月亮谷」,同時也是最接近火星樣貌的景觀,能感受到與宇宙距離被悄悄拉近的真實與震撼。

這片被稱為「月亮谷」的沙漠,之所以被形容為「最接近火星的地方」,並不只是因為壯麗,而是因為它的地貌與氛圍,與我們對火星的認知驚人地相似。大片鐵質含量高的紅色沙地,使整個地表呈現出深紅色調;風蝕形成的岩柱與斷崖,則像極了科學家透過探測器所觀察到的火星地形。

更關鍵的是「空曠」。在 Wadi Rum,視線可以延伸到極遠的地平線,幾乎看不到人為建築,也缺乏植被覆蓋,這種純粹而原始的環境,正是火星給人的第一印象——遼闊、孤寂,卻又充滿未知。

This desert, known as the “Valley of the Moon,” is often described as one of the closest places on Earth to Mars. It’s not just because of its beauty, but because its landscape and atmosphere closely resemble what we imagine the Red Planet to be like. The الرمال rich in iron give the الأرض a deep red color, while wind-carved rock pillars and cliffs look strikingly similar to the Martian terrain observed by scientists through rovers and probes.

What makes it even more remarkable is its vast openness. In Wadi Rum, the horizon stretches endlessly, with almost no man-made structures and very little vegetation. This raw and untouched environment mirrors the very first impression of Mars—expansive, silent, and full of mystery.

These unique conditions have made it a popular filming location for space-themed movies, including The Martian, where the desert convincingly transforms into another planet.

As night falls, the feeling of being in outer space becomes even more real. With no light pollution, the sky fills with countless stars, and the Milky Way stretches across the darkness. For many, it’s more than just a beautiful view—it’s a rare moment of feeling truly connected to the universe.

Beyond its natural beauty, this land also holds traces of human history. Ancient inscriptions in Khazali Canyon and landmarks like the “Seven Pillars of Wisdom” remind us that even in such an otherworldly environment, humans have long left their mark. This contrast—human presence within an extreme landscape—echoes the possibilities of future exploration on Mars.

In this way, Wadi Rum offers more than just a visual spectacle. It invites us to rethink the distance between Earth and space—showing us that without ever leaving our planet, we can begin to imagine what it might feel like to stand on another world.

近日,英國完成了一條夢想中的路,一條沿著整個英格蘭海岸延伸的步道正式誕生,成為全球最長的沿海步道,讓我們一起走進這片海岸風景,感受它的壯麗與自由。

當英國的海風吹拂過懸崖與沙灘,一條歷時18年打造的夢想之路,終於完整呈現在世人眼前。
最近,查爾斯三世 親自為一條全新的海岸步道揭幕——這條名為「King Charles III England Coast Path」的路線,沿著整個英格蘭海岸延伸,全長約2,689英里,是目前世界上最長的沿海步道。更特別的是,這是英格蘭第一次擁有一條「完整連續」的海岸線步道,讓人們可以真正一步一步,走遍整個海岸。

這條步道並不是一蹴可幾的成果,而是一段橫跨18年的長期計畫。從前英國首相 戈登·布朗 任內開始推動,歷經7位首相的更替,才終於逐步完成。過程中,不僅新建了超過1,000英里的路段,也改善了許多既有步道——鋪設更平穩的路面、移除障礙、興建木棧道與橋樑,只為讓更多人能安全又舒適地親近海岸。

更令人驚喜的是,這條步道也改變了「誰可以接近海岸」。透過2009年通過的 Marine and Coastal Access Act,許多過去屬於私人或限制進入的區域——像是沙灘、沙丘甚至懸崖——如今都對大眾開放。人們不只是「走在路上」,還可以走下步道、靠近海水、野餐、探索,真正與自然互動。

As sea winds sweep across England’s cliffs and beaches, an 18-year vision has finally come to life.

Recently, King Charles III officially opened a new coastal walking route—the King Charles III England Coast Path. Stretching 2,689 miles, it is now the longest managed coastal trail in the world. For the first time, it creates a continuous path around England’s coastline, allowing people to explore it step by step.

This path did not appear overnight. It is the result of an 18-year project that began during former Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s administration and continued through seven different leaders. Over 1,000 miles of new paths were created, and many existing routes were improved—resurfaced, cleared of obstacles, and equipped with boardwalks and bridges to make access safer and easier for everyone.

Walking along the route, the scenery constantly changes—from peaceful salt marshes and sandy beaches to dramatic cliffs, rolling dunes, and historic seaside towns. One of the highlights is the iconic Seven Sisters in southeast England, where a line of white chalk cliffs stretches beautifully along the coast.

But the path is not just about its length. What makes it truly special is the freedom it offers—you can reach the coast anywhere in England, turn left or right, and simply keep walking beside the sea for as long as you like.

Another important change is access. Thanks to the Marine and Coastal Access Act passed in 2009, areas that were once private or restricted—such as beaches, dunes, and cliff tops—are now open to the public. People can step off the path, walk closer to the sea, picnic, and truly connect with nature.

The path is also designed to adapt. With rising sea levels and coastal erosion caused by climate change, sections of the trail can be moved inland when needed. For example, after a recent landslide in Dorset, a damaged section was quickly rerouted and reopened, allowing walkers to continue their journey.

Today, about 80% of the route is complete, with full completion expected soon. In the future, it could even connect with the Wales Coast Path, creating a continuous route around Britain—an incredible journey of around 9,000 miles.

This is more than just a walking path—it is an invitation to slow down, head to the coast, and reconnect with nature.
