Yesterday, we were honored to welcome Dr. Hayes Tang,Associate Professor at The Education University of Hong Kong, for a thought-provoking talk titled:
“Future imaginaries and academic entrepreneurialism in East Asia: Diverse voices and critical insights from ‘world-class’ academic professions.”

Dr. Tang shared inspiring insights on how higher education in East Asia is evolving under global pressures, emphasizing academic entrepreneurialism, future imaginaries, and the social meanings of “world-class” universities. His engaging examples sparked active discussions among our students — from questions on educational reforms to reflections on academic identity and transformation.

💬 The dialogue was lively and insightful, showing the diversity of perspectives within IMAPA’s international community. Students from different countries exchanged ideas and experiences over lunch, creating a warm and intellectually stimulating atmosphere.

Huge thanks to Dr. Tang for joining us and to all participants for contributing to such an enriching session.
