🏸 Shuttle Time x Play with Purpose!

The Barbados Badminton Association was pleased to bring BWF Shuttle Time to the summer camp component of Play with Purpose, an IOC Young Leaders project led by Ayanna Morgan.

Through fun and engaging Shuttle Time activities, campers were introduced to badminton while developing coordination, confidence, teamwork and fundamental movement skills. It was fantastic to see so many young participants enthusiastically picking up a racket, learning new skills and enjoying the sport! 🙌🏸

With Play with Purpose exposing children to a wide range of sports throughout its six-week programme, Shuttle Time provided another opportunity to show just how fun, accessible and inclusive badminton can be.

A special thank you to Ayanna and the Play with Purpose team for giving us the opportunity to share badminton with the next generation! 🏸🌟

The Shuttle Time Barbados team was proud to be part of the ABLE (Everyone is A.B.L.E.) Inclusive Event 💙🏸

Our Shuttle Time Coordinator, Tremayne Griffith and upcoming coach Arianne Downes represented the programme, helping to deliver fun and engaging badminton activities for all participants.

A.B.L.E is an inspiring initiative that brings children with and without disabilities together through sport, promoting inclusion, understanding, and meaningful connections from a young age. Participants were paired to play, interact, and learn from each other, creating a truly inclusive environment.

Through Shuttle Time, we introduced activities such as shuttle balance, serving, overhead skills, and modified gameplay which were all adapted to ensure every child could participate and enjoy the experience.

A heartfelt thank you to the organisers for the opportunity to be part of such a powerful and impactful event. We look forward to continuing to support inclusive sport in Barbados 🙌🏽
