One of our instructors at Brains, Brilliance and Beyond! We're super proud of you Miss Patrice!
To decorate or to educate?
Ms. Britto-Thomas of San Juan Girls’ Government Primary School believes they go hand in hand. “My students must know that I care enough to make the environment in which they spend most of their day, a beautiful and comfortable one.” “I need to always ensure that the environment in which they sit is conducive for learning. It must motivate them to want to learn!”
When students step into a visually appealing room, it helps to prepare them for the school day ahead. Ms. Britto-Thomas, allows her girls to actively participate in the decorating process. Under her directive, they stuck, stapled and hung everything seen in the classroom. It gives them a sense of ownership and pride, which ensures that they keep it clean. Additionally, they are happy to enter the place they helped to create. “It costs a lot to do but it is always worth it as the girls enter the classroom and greet me with a hug. That speaks volumes and makes my day!”
Thank you Patrice Britto-Thomas for being this week's feature. Keep up the good work!
