Young Writers of Trinidad and Tobago

Young Writers of Trinidad and Tobago An educational institute which bridges global learning and education in the classroom! Ages 7 to 17. But why, you might wonder? About the Head Educator:

Ms. Ms.

Established in 2017, Young Writers of Trinidad and Tobago Learning Institute embarked on an important mission: a mission which extended beyond the mere academic preparation of students. Instead, we sought to infuse a global perspective into our classrooms, bootcamps, workshops and beyond. Our rationale is firmly rooted in the belief that by targeting bright and energetic children and young people, we will help steer the country in the right, sustainable direction. Our programs and activities include:

• Day and Evening classes in the following subject areas: English Language Arts {Grammar, Spelling and Reading Comprehension}, Essay Writing {Narrative & Report} and Mathematics, for students in Standards Three to Five (Grades Four to Six)

• The Art of Public Speaking for Kids! (ages 6 to 11)

• The Diplomat Kid (promoting the 17 Global Goals - ages 6 to 11)

• COMMS 2.0 - A Presentation Skills & Digital Literacy Workshop (for students ages 12 to 17)

• A yearly Essay Writing Bootcamp (held during the July-August vacation)

• Teachings of global developments, global culture and its impact on both international and national communities in the classroom. At Young Writers, our passion also stems from the need to equip students in becoming better writers and stronger communicators, all the while, instilling global awareness at an early age. With these strategies, we promise to provide a platform that is both educational and enlightening. Abi-Gail Johnson comes from a family of teachers and brings with her a legacy of teaching excellence. She has worked with numerous students who have struggled with reading and writing. As a registered Teacher with the Ministry of Education, she specializes in tutoring English Language Arts and Essay Writing to students, ages 9 to 12. Johnson received her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Communication Studies (with special electives in Film Studies and Political Science) and received her Post-graduate Diploma in International Relations from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. Later on, she attended the Institute of International Relations Graduate School for the Masters of Science in Global Studies. Johnson also holds a TQUK (Teachers Qualification United Kingdom) Level-5 certification in teaching English as a Foreign Language. Public speaking, travelling and binging on espionage movies are just some of the things she enjoys doing in her spare time.

Thank you to our parents who have played an instrumental role in their child's journey. Your countless sacrifice made a huge difference, even on difficult days.🧡

To all students: High school will require more than just a positive mind. You will need to be 'gritty'-- resilient, displaying firmness of character, taking initiatives, doing what it takes to get the work done and being passionate about your goals.
So go out there to your new school and give them some G R I T! 🏅🏆👏
