JOY in collaboration with Studio Rumors Lounge will be hosting a games night/donation drive in order to assist persons kicked out by parents or landlords, as well as those asked to leave their jobs as a result of their sexuality.
Date: Sunday 22nd of April, 2018
Time: 6pm-12am
Location: Studio Rumors Lounge
Persons attending will be required to bring at least one item to donate ranging from non-perishable food items, to hygiene products such as deodorants, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, tampons, pads, etc. In addition persons may also bring sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, clothing and anything else that may be USEFUL to displaced persons. Individuals attending are also welcomed to bring along their own games.
It is first priority to assist persons who have been displaced. However, after the primary goal is satisfied, the remaining resources, depending on what it is will be saved for future cases as well as used to aid other groups in need, to ensure nothing is wasted.
For those unable to make it to Studio Rumors Lounge on Sunday, donations can be made throughout the following week (23-28th) at the institute for gender development at the UWI St. Augustine Campus.
