Bhadase Sagan Maharaj who gave materials and financial assistance. A committee headed by Mr. Mangra Jagessar was mandated to overlook the completion of the building. Other members of the committee were Mr. Ramdeen Chotoo, Mr. Ramjass Ramsumair, Mr. Ramnath Dalchan, Mr. Sam Maharaj, Mr. Lochan Madaree and Mr. Rambock. The building was completed in November, 1956 and opened under the Sanatan Dharma
Maha Sabha Board or Education on January 14 th 1957. Mr. Ramjass Ramsumair was appointed the first Principal together with a staff of eight teachers. There was an enrollment of two hundred and fifty pupils. Lochan Madaree was appointed the first manager of the school. He was succeeded by Mr. Sam Maharaj who was then succeeded by Pt. Sahadeo Sohan. Our present manager is Mr. Vivek Charran, Managing Director of Charrans Bookstores and President of the San Juan
Business Association. After Mr. Ramsumair’s retirement in 1982, he was succeeded by the following principals: Mr. Indar Lal (1983 – 1989), Mr. Deonarine Basdeo (1990 – 2000),Mr. Ramjit Maharaj (2001-2009), Mr. Adesh Maharaj (2010-2014). At present, Mrs. Natasha Jogie is the Principal of the Aranguez Hindu SDMS Primary School.
