Arty Pants Studio TT
Art Club for kids. We facilitate learning as we create! Arty Pants Studio TT operates out of the Vistabella Community Center on weekday afternoons.
My aim is to provide children from the ages of 5 to 11 with a safe and nurturing environment to explore their creativity and build on their artistic talents. All Art Supplies will be provided so children simply need to show up and be creative!

Focus is a key component in improving academic performance, and engaging in creative activities can help students to keep focused for longer periods.

Art class gives kids the opportunity to be curious in a system that increasingly pushes them towards rote learning. They learn standard techniques and rules yes, but they are encouraged to use them to explore!
Registration for the new term of art is officially open! Please see the flyer (also posted in the comments) for details.

Thanks so much to all the kiddos that came out yesterday for Arty Pants Studio's Cappy and Axie Sip N Paint! These events take a lot of energy but they are always sooooo much fun! YAYOI KUSAMA (b. 1929) is known for her artwork featuring repetitive elements, like dots. Bright colours and highly patterned objects make up her signature style. This avant-garde artist was the focus of our last day of camp. My campers used coloured paper, tempera paint sticks and their imaginations to create a piece in her style! I think they all did a fabulous job! π₯°π―

EDWARD HOPPER (1882β1967) was an American artist known for his realistic paintings of city and country life. He learned to paint as a child but didnβt develop his style until later. Hopper painted things as he saw them, using simple lines and light to capture quiet, thoughtful moments, as seen in The Long Leg.. (last pic). My campers used watercolours and oil pastels to capture the calming essence of Hopper's seascape.

Our master artist today was CLAUDE MONET (1840β1926), a French painter and founder of an art movement called Impressionism. He loved art and nature and painted outdoors in the open air, or en plain air, to capture the effects of natural light. My campers focused on space, texture and form as they created their own version of three haystacks. Monet's original.. last pic

MARIA PRYMACHENKO (1909-1997) was our master artist of the day. A self-taught Ukrainian FOLK ARTIST, she was best known for paintings of colourful animals, flowers and scenes inspired by nature, which can be seen in Pigeons (last pic). The campers big and small enjoyed creating symmetrical birds in this endearing folk style. π¦π΅π¦

This week it's all about emulating the styles of great artists around the world. We started off with probably our most famous for the week.. Vincent Van Gogh. The kids chose an analogous colour scheme, whicj means colours next to each other on the colour wheel. This made everyone's finished piece look harmonious. No colour looks like it wants to grab all the attention. π
They picked up some cool techniques to make texture as well. The last pic is the inspiration piece.. Van Gogh's roses. All in all a fun day with some gorgeous art!
