📚 CSEC & CAPE Registration 2026: What Parents, Students & Private Candidates Must Know
Are you planning to register for January or May/June 2026 CXC exams? Whether you’re a parent, student, or adult learner, here’s what you need to know 👇
💰 Last Year’s Fees (May 2025 – as a guide):
CSEC
Candidate Fee: $156
Administrative Fee: $8
Subject Fee: $158 (extra $3 if the subject has orals)
CAPE
Candidate Fee: $156
Administrative Fee: $8
Subject Fee: $222
⚠️ Fees for 2026 will be released soon — but it’s wise to budget early so there are no surprises.
✨ The “Free Chance” Policy (Trinidad & Tobago Nationals):
1️⃣ One free chance only — at either CSEC or CAPE, not both.
2️⃣ Applies after your first sitting at the end of Form 5.
3️⃣ Adults who have never attempted CXC exams also qualify.
4️⃣ Private school students may use it in their final year, but if they sit before then, all fees apply.
👉 This means: If you’ve already used your free chance or you’re registering as a private candidate, you’ll need to cover the full cost of registration.
