A year of training people to use AI taught me something I didn’t expect.
The struggle isn’t usually about AI.
It shows up as confusion with prompting. Frustration with outputs. Giving up after two tries.
But when you dig deeper, the real gap is older.
For a lot of people, the real issue is that every technology shift over the last thirty years added a layer they never fully absorbed.
Computers. The internet. Smartphones. Cloud tools. Social media.
Each one arrived faster than the last. Each one assumed you had already mastered the one before it. And for many people, life was busy. There was no time to sit down and truly learn. You picked up just enough to get by, and you moved on.
That is not a personal failure. That is what happens when technology moves faster than people are given the chance to keep up.
AI is just the newest layer sitting on top of an unstable foundation.
So when someone freezes in front of a blank prompt, the problem is rarely the prompt. It is everything underneath it that never got steady.
Here is the part most people miss: you can’t skip the foundation. You have to go back and fill it in.
And the good news is that the foundation can be filled in at any age, at any stage, starting today. The gap is real, but it is not permanent. It only stays a gap if no one shows you the way through it, and if you have nowhere safe to practice.
That is exactly why I built the School of AI for Business. It is a free community where you can slow down and actually learn, without the tech overwhelm and without the hype. If you desire, you can upgrade to access sessions every Monday morning.. we meet live to talk through what is new and how to use it that week. The certification classes are always open, built for complete beginners and then for those ready to go deeper. And there is a full library of past sessions waiting whenever you are ready.
No judgment for asking the basic question. No pressure to already know. Just steady learning, week after week, because AI is not going to stop evolving and neither should you.
If you have ever felt behind, you are not behind. You are just getting started, in the right place this time.
The door is open and it is free to start. Come build with us.
