Two years and one term today, Brazil Secondary Cadet Unit, through the Commandant of the Trinidad and Tobago Cadet Force, has appointed its first batch of Non-Commissioned Officers in the post-COVID era. It was a moment of genuine pride to present these cadets with their instruments of appointment today, and I look forward to nothing but the very best from them going forward.

Part 2: The Brazil Secondary Cadet Unit and Coryal Secondary Cadet Unit came together for their annual Christmas dinner and awards function, recognizing service, discipline, and commitment over the past year. A fitting close to the term and a reminder that excellence is built through consistency and teamwork.

I can’t quite put into words what it feels like to watch students grow over the years and step confidently into adulthood. Eight years ago, I took command of a cadet unit for the first time and began this journey of teaching, mentoring, and shaping young minds. Today marks a special moment, as one of the very first students from that original batch has brought me the good news of her university graduation.
Ms. Shania Soogrim was among the first NCOs under my command, and from the beginning, she played a key role in ensuring a smooth transition when I assumed duty. She has always conducted herself with distinction, reflecting both her character and capability.
It brings me great pride to extend heartfelt congratulations to her on earning her BSc in Leadership and Management (Special) with a Minor in Marketing from the University of the West Indies.
Wishing you continued success, Ms. Soogrim, this is only the beginning.
Going into my 3rd year of command at the Brazil Secondary Cadet Unit.
This is who we are!!!!!!
