Roger is a Drummer/Percussionist educator and musician presently based in Trinidad. Although a Trinidadian by birth, he grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada and attended St. Francis Xavier University in 1982 where he enrolled in Jazz Studies. He then attended the University of Knoxville, Tennessee in the summer of ‘84 where he met and learnt from some of the best drummers of our time. This was a life changing experience and the beginning of his musical journey. In the late 80’s and early ‘90’s he performed with various bands and musicians in the eastern part of Canada, performing jazz and old school R&B classics (Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and so on). Over the past years he has quickly made a name for himself as a sought-after music instructor and has become known as one of the most versatile drummers in Trinidad and Tobago. He continues to be a strong advocate for “Live Music” and a supporter of local musicians and artists.
