“Passport stamps” may have been missing, but the experience was unforgettable! 🇨🇴✨
Yesterday, 29 of our form 4 Spanish students enjoyed an exciting visit to the Embassy of Colombia, where language, culture and cuisine came to life beyond the classroom walls.
We extend sincere thanks to His Excellency William Bush, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia, for warmly hosting our girls and giving them the opportunity to explore the beauty and vibrancy of Colombia. From discovering the importance of the Spanish language in today’s modern world of work, to tasting delicious Colombian cuisine, to stepping into the shoes of an “Ambassador for the Day,” the experience was both educational and memorable.
The students were accompanied by Ms. Miller-Sanowar and Ms. Jones, who also enjoyed this enriching cultural experience alongside them.
Safe to say… a few future diplomats may have been discovered on this day! 🇨🇴❤️

Tsarina- the Russian word for “princess” or “little queen.”
Tassarina- the HFCP word for the group of little queens who made history as HFCP’s very first tassa group and the first HFCP group to enter the Republic Bank Tassa Taal Competition.
Today we recognize:
Cutter Woman- Amba Anchortassoo
Foolay Woman- Amirah Hosein
Jhal Woman- Nandani Ramdial
Bass Woman- Aavani Ramsamooj
This journey began when, while seeking a tassa group to perform for a Divali programme, Ms. Francois thoughtfully remarked, “HFCP needs to start its own tassa group.” It was an idea she nurtured with passion and purpose, and in January 2026, during co-curricular activities, the very first Tassarinas were born. Trained by Mr. Randell Ramdain and managed by Ms. Aria Mohammed, these girls displayed persistence, determination and courage, far exceeding all expectations.
Their performance today was made even more unforgettable by the accompanying dancers, beautifully choreographed by Ms. Persad, Netanya Phillip and assisted by Mr. Gross and Ms. Booker-St. Paul
To our Tassarinas, HFCP is incredibly proud of you! You are truly our little tassa queens, and we look forward to even greater things from you in the near future.

HFCP Food and Nutrition students proudly displayed their cake decorating skills alongside our beloved past student, Rebekah James. Learning can be accomplished in many different ways and at HFCP, we do it with style while having fun at the same time. Excellent work students and a heartfelt thank you to Rebekah for sharing her expertise and inspiring the girls!
