📝Preparing in advance for an exam can increase productivity, allow you to set goals and avoid the stress of cramming at the last minute.
Here are some of my top 5 tips for studying:
1️⃣ Create a study time table.⏳
In this time table you will allocate time for leisure, homework, extra-classes, practice test and personal revision.
2️⃣Creating a holistic study space. Figure out which environment you learn best in i.e. a quiet space alone, with soft background music. Create an ideal study environment that allows you to retain information. Eliminate distractions. 🤫
3️⃣Snack on brain foods.🥬🧄💊
Have a balance intake of brain healthy supplements and foods.
4️⃣Flashcards or props. 📇🔖✏️
Creating flash cards, writing in different colours for headings and subheadings, is a great way to assist in the retention of information.
5️⃣Get organized/protect your notes ensuring that it’s neat and understandable for revision. Know that the effort you put in will directly affect to results you get out.

Attending UWI was quiet a memorable experience, with many ups and downs. One of the most memorable was completing my thesis which I've decided to share with you. When I decided to study the topic of gangs using linguistics, my thought was that I just wanted to better understand the psyche of the 'gang element' within a particular community. I take so much pride in it, since it took a lot of research and involved going into some perilous areas alone as a young academic. I am grateful to the close friends I had at the time, that helped me gain direct one on one access to a particular gang element my respondents gave themselves in alias: Barbie, Kaiser Suzay, Ex-member, Mechanic, Stinger and Poison all of whom identified as Local Leaders or community leaders. All of whom entrusted me to conduct confidential one on one interviews with them, partially because they wanted their voices to be heard and also because they genuinely wanted me to produce a good thesis. Please feel free to explore my blood, sweat and tears research conduct in the Patna/ Blue basin community. What sort of attivities would make a respondent say:
Interviewer: Would you like to explain it more?
Barbie: [laughs]
Interviewer; Is your choice.
Barbie: No, not really? Ah doh wanna go into all de fine details but you know, yeah, dah was it basically...
or
gesture to me the interviewer to be very careful with my line of questioning and in some instance doh go dey.
