Starting preschool is a BIG transition — for your child and for you.
There may be excitement, but there may also be tears, clinginess, hesitation, or big emotions when it’s time to say goodbye. And that’s okay.
At DOKA, we don’t expect children to simply “stop crying” or get over their feelings. We meet them where they are.
Our teachers respond with love, patience and reassurance — offering a comforting hug when needed, gentle words, a listening ear, and reminders that your parent/guardian will come back in shaa Allah.
We help children understand that their feelings are safe, while gently guiding them toward a new sense of security:
“My teacher will take care of me.”
“I am safe here.”
“My parents always come back.”
Separation is not about expecting a child to be happy from the very first moment. It’s about giving them the time, consistency and emotional support they need to build trust.

At DOKA, we’re not just helping children settle into school — we’re helping them feel safe enough to learn, explore and grow by the permission of Allah.
