Industry exposure is an essential part of workforce development.
Our Year 2 Welding Cohort 12 students of the Point Lisas and Ste. Madeleine campuses recently visited DAMUS in Point Fortin, where they toured the facility, observed live welding and fabrication operations, engaged in practical welding-related activities, and gained valuable insights from experienced industry professionals.
We thank DAMUS for partnering with NESC Technical Institute to help prepare the next generation of skilled trades professionals.

Did you know? Early welders didn’t have the advanced safety gear we use today, they often protected their eyes with simple tinted glass goggles or even makeshift face covers just to shield themselves from the intense arc light and flying sparks, while today’s helmets feature auto-darkening technology designed to improve safety and visibility.
At NESC-TI, welding students gain hands-on experience using industry-relevant tools and equipment while building valuable technical skills for the future.
