Day #2 was all about patterns, a basic part of understanding math. We created patterns with blocks, looking at both shapes and colours whicj form patterns. They did some painting, making their own patterns. They eventually added their own imagination and some of the patterns got covered. There was also some shading using pattern boards and egg shapes.

Benny the Bunny sent his thanks for all the hut designs, and another letter asking for help with a bridge. That proved to be a challenge because the kids had never built one, but I'm proud that they never gave up. They tried and tried, experimented and tried again when it didn't work - an extremely important factor in strategic and critical thinking.

We also experimented with fizzing eggs (baking soda and vinegar). There were also some surprises in the frozen eggs which took a little while to get to.

We look forward to tomorrow and seeing what Benny needs to help with his survival; and the championship of the eraser-in-the-bottle game.

Thank you all for being a part of our first Easter STEM camp! Today the kids got to know each other.
It's a small crowd so we have better interactions and everyone gets individual attention.

We made snow (non edible), which they've brought home with them. Use it in a tray/waiter for easy use and clean up.

We tried some sink and float.
They tried to build an egg tower, and a cup tower. The challenge is to build the highest they can build by the end of the week.

Lastly, Benny the Bunny sent us a letter, desperately seeking some help to build a hut. They designed their structure, built them with a little help, and then figured out ways in which they could reinforce the huts.

All in all, we had a good day! See you tomorrow!!👨‍🔧👩‍🏭👨‍🔬👩‍🏭👩‍🔧
