Building on the success of last year’s inaugural session, the Waterloo Secondary School Alumni Association (WSSAA) was pleased to host the 2nd Resume Writing and Interview Skills Workshop on Saturday 25th July 2026.

This year’s workshop was specially designed to support our recent graduates and young alumni as they transition into the world of work, providing them with valuable tools and practical guidance to strengthen their resumes, enhance their interview skills, and confidently approach career opportunities.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our returning facilitator, Mr. Joshua Mohammed, for once again sharing his expertise, experience, and valuable insights with our Waterloo family. With his extensive background in recruitment and human resources, Mr. Mohammed provided participants with practical strategies to help them stand out in today’s competitive job market.

We also extend our appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of this initiative, including our participants, supporters, and the WSSAA team for their continued commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for our graduates and alumni community.

WSSAA remains committed to providing opportunities that support our students and graduates beyond the classroom, helping them to grow, develop, and succeed in their future endeavours.

Today, we reflect on the triumph of freedom over oppression and pay tribute to the African ancestors whose strength, sacrifice, and perseverance helped shape our nation. We celebrate the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and contributions of the African community, which continue to influence and enrich Trinidad and Tobago.

May this day inspire us to honour their legacy by promoting respect, inclusion, education, and social progress for all.

After approximately 25 years of dedicated service to Waterloo Secondary School, Ms. Patty-Sue Franklyn has completed her final teaching term as she prepares for retirement.

Throughout the years, she has touched countless lives through her commitment, guidance, and unwavering dedication to education. As she made her final walk through the school, students and staff came together to honour her with music, applause, and heartfelt appreciation, including a special serenade by the Waterloo Secondary School Steel Band.

While we are saddened to see her leave, we celebrate the remarkable legacy she leaves behind and the many generations of students whose lives have been enriched by her presence.

Thank you, Ms. Franklyn, for your years of service, care, and dedication. You will be deeply missed, but your impact will remain a part of Waterloo Secondary School for years to come.
