Corpus Christi, which translates to "Body of Christ" in Latin, is a solemnity in the Catholic Church commemorating the Eucharist, the sacrament of the body and blood of Jesus.
The holiday has a strong connection to agriculture, with many farmers traditionally planting crops on this day, particularly pigeon peas and corn, believing it will lead to a bountiful harvest.
Students were given plants by Library Staff to take home to transplant..
