House of the Ibis

The House of the Ibis joins our brothers and sisters of the Servants of the Light School, the Fraternidad Círculo Dorado, and the lodges and orders of the wider esoteric community as we honour the passing of Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki, our dear teacher and spiritual mother.

Dolores was a pillar of Light in the lives of all whom she touched. Many years ago, when she first came to Trinidad, there was instant soul recognition — one that deepened as the years rolled on.

Dolores gave unreservedly to the Light and to all of us here in Trinidad and Tobago. Her teachings have guided us along the path of the mysteries, and her wisdom has contributed significantly to our development as a School.

In the spirit of Dolores’ teachings, we at the House of the Ibis ask that you light a passing candle, for a great soul has returned to the Light.

May the Opener of the Ways — her blessed companion who has walked with her — greet her with love, light, and blessings.

Since ancient times, humanity has sought to deepen its connection with the sacred. Ritual and ceremony have been central to this journey—serving as vehicles for protection, healing, and abundance, and later evolving to address our longing for success, power, love, and, ultimately, divine guidance and enlightenment.

In the Western Mystery Tradition, the sacred and transformative path chosen by workers of the Light is known as Theurgy—a spiritual art and sacred science that uses symbolic action, sound, and intention to align the practitioner with divine forces.

Theurgy, meaning “divine work” or “working with the gods”, is not about commanding power, but about awakening it—through cooperation with higher intelligences and the divine spark within.

We welcome all seekers of the deeper mysteries of the Light to attend our upcoming workshop entitled:

"The Sacred Path of Theurgy"

This immersive three-part workshop series is designed for seekers who feel called to the deeper mysteries of spiritual transformation. It consists of three weekend intensives, spaced approximately six months apart. Participants journey through the series as a unified group, each session building upon the last and expanding the depth and scope of their understanding and experience.

Each weekend includes structured theoretical teaching, personal and group exercises, and culminates in a full ritual that integrates what has been learned in practice (all white clothing or a robe is required for the culminating rite). The sequence must be taken in order, as each session lays the foundation for the next level of work.

THE MAGICAL POWER OF THE PSALMS

The Book of Psalms has been used since time immemorial to connect and cleave to the Divine One. This enigmatic body of sacred work has been used since antiquity for healing, protection, prosperity and for averting evil in its manifold forms. More importantly, there are secrets to the Psalms which even the avid user is not aware of.

To each Psalm is assigned a Divine Name which helps to unleash its power. Each one also carries with it certain letters of the Hebrew alphabet that can be formed into sigils for talismanic work. In the Jewish tradition of the Kabbalah, there were prayers given, which were keys that helped to unlock the doors of inner power of these sacred prayers attributed to King David, the beloved one of Hashem.

This is the first in a series of workshops on these sacred writings. During the weekend we will explore the hidden dimensions of the Psalms of David.
