The next International Conference on Research in Air Transportation (ICRAT) will be held the week of May 26, 2014 at the Istanbul Technical University in Istanbul, Turkey. In this 2014 edition, ICRAT will be organized in conjunction with the 4th International Conference on Application and Theory of Automation in Command and Control Systems (ATACCS) and host the ComplexWorld workshop from the SESAR WP-E Research Networks.

Novel 4D Operational Operational Display (4DOD), which is currently being developed by CAL research group, provides the pilots with high-level information about the flight operation and trajectory. Through the 4DOD, the pilot can monitor the flight trajectories (negotiated or processing) of the ownship and surrounding aircraft in four dimensions (including time); environmental effects such as weather, airspace boundaries, terrain obstacles; status of the flight involving required time of arrival objectives, delays, estimated capacity of the airspace; and safety related warnings such as conflict probability predictions...

CAL has initiated new ATM research activity within Resilence2050.eu, a FP7-AAT project, whose main objective is to analyze weakness in resilience ability of the current air traffic system and develop new design principles fostering safety, agility and resilience in the challenging picture of 2050 air space.

HALA! (Higher Automation Levels in ATM) is a Research Network established within the framework of SESAR WP-E to spearhead long term and innovative research in automation in ATM in pursuit of the SESAR 2020 vision and beyond.
