Dear Collegues,

International Conference Unspoken Issues in Architectural Education 2022, which took place on April 14-15, was completed with intense participation and qualified presentations. As you know, we planned to hold this event with the decision taken by the Faculty Board in 2020. First of all, I would like to thank the members of the Faculty Board at that time for creating this idea. It was a miracle to hold such a conference during the pandemic period. I would like to especially thank to the Conference Co-coordinators Prof. Dr. Resmiye Alpar Atun and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehra Öngül; Conference Secretariats Prof. Dr. Nil Paşaoğluları Şahin, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Badiossadat Hassanpour, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ceren Boğaç, Assit. Prof. Dr. Kamil Güley; Organizing Committee Members Prof. Dr. Mukaddes Polay, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Afet Celiker Coşkun, Assit. Prof. Dr. Müge Rıza, Assit.Prof. Dr. Ahenk Yılgın Damgacı, Assit. Prof. Dr. Pınar Uluçay Righelato, Assit. Prof. Dr. Seyit Ermiyagil who made this miracle happen.

Furthermore, special appreciations to the International Advisory Board Member Prof. Dr. Şebnem Hoşkara, who moderated one of our invited speakers during our conference, and our Scientific Board Members Prof. Dr. Kokan Grcev and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Guita Farivarsadri, who chaired the sessions; I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Assoc. Prof Dr. Hacer Basarır Dindiç who took the first steps for inviting one of our invited speakers although she didn’t have any committee duty. In addition, we would like to express our gratitude to all our faculty members who were with us constantly during the conference as well as International Advisory and Scientific Committee Members. Finally, I would like to thank our research assistants who were the secret heroes of our conference.

As EMU Faculty of Architecture, we are proud of the academically successful conference; besides I would like to announce that the proceeding will be published as soon as possible; last but not the least, I would like to thank our Rectorate for being with us; the Chamber of Architects for their support and the keynote speakers Dr. Harriet Harris and Dr. Graeme Brooker for their outstanding speeches.

14-15 Nisan tarihinde gerçekleşen Unspoken Issues in Architectural Education 2022 Uluslararası Konferansımız oldukça yoğun katılım ve nitelikli sunumlarla tamamlandı. Bildiğiniz gibi 2020 yılında Fakülte Kurulu’nun almış olduğu karar ile bu etkinliği yapmayı planlamıştık. Öncelikle o dönemki Fakülte Kurulu üyelerine bu düşünceyi oluşturdukları için teşekkür ediyorum.

Pandemi döneminde böyle bir konferans düzenlemek bir mucizeydi. Bu mucizenin gerçekleşmesini sağlayan eş konferans koordinatörleri Prof. Dr. Resmiye Alpar Atun ve Doç. Dr. Zehra Öngül’e; Prof. Dr. Nil Paşaoğluları Şahin, Doç. Dr. Badiossadat Hassanpour, Doç. Dr. Ceren Boğaç ve Yrd. Doç. Dr. Kamil Güley’den oluşan Sekreteryaya; Prof. Dr. Mukaddes Polay, Doç. Dr. Afet Çeliker Coşkun, Yrd. Doç. Dr. Müge Rıza, Yrd. Doç. Dr. Ahenk Yılgın Damgacı, Yrd. Doç. Dr. Pınar Uluçay Righelato ve Yrd. Doç. Dr. Seyit Ermiyagil’den oluşan Organizasyon Komitesine sonsuz teşekkür ediyorum. Ayrıca, konferansımız esnasında Davetli Konuşmacımızın moderatörlüğünü yapan Uluslararası Danışma Kurulu Üyesi Prof. Dr. Şebnem Hoşkara’ya ve Oturum Başkanlığı yapan Bilim Kurulu üyelerimizden Prof. Dr. Kokan Grcev ve Doç. Dr. Guita Farivarsadri’ye; ayrıca komite görevi olmamasına rağmen davetli konuşmacılarımızdan birinin davetimizi kabul etmesini sağlayan Doç. Dr. Hacer Başarır’a en içten minnetlerimizi sunuyorum. Bunun yanında tüm Uluslararası Danışma ve Bilim Kurulu üyelerine; ve konferans esnasında sürekli olarak bizimle olan tüm öğretim üyelerimize de şükranlarımı sunmayı bir borç bilirim.

Son olarak da konferansımızın gizli kahramanları Araştırma Görevlilerimize çok teşekkür ediyorum.

DAÜ Mimarlık Fakültesi olarak akademik anlamda başarılı olan konferanstan dolayı gurur duyduğumuzu ifade eder; kitapcığın en kısa zamanda yayınlanacağını duyurur; ayrıca her zaman bizim yanımızda olan Rektörlüğümüze; bize destek veren Mimarlar Odası’na ve olağanüstü sunumları ile konferansım katkı koyan Davetli Konuşmacılarımız Dr.Harriet Harris ve Dr. Graeme Brooker’e çok teşekkür ederim.
