CITY//CHANGEMAKER is building up as a platform for urban innovation in emerging cities. Our aim is to connect city changemakers in the Mediterranean and the Middle East and to mine for disruptive innovations that can scale and address pressing urban challenges in the region. As a starter, we are embarking on a regional tour to run a series of workshops where we invite local city changemakers on a deep-dive to reflect on key challenges facing their city and to co-create innovative ideas in response. And as we move on from one city to another, we will be growing a network of city changemakers and building a knowledgebase of powerful ideas, concepts and projects. We will also partner with local urban labs that can help propel some of these innovations into reality. Additionally, we will be sharing insights with local city governments to highlight the creative potential and drive of city changemakers and to demand an enabling framework for their full participation in the process of sustainable urban transformation of their city.
