Today, the spirit of Timor-Leste was alive and vibrant across both our Matenek Tots Centre and Matenek Kids Grove as we celebrated Restoration of Independence Day with pride and joy! 🇹🇱✨

Celebrations were in full swing as our children and staff came dressed in beautiful traditional Timorese attire while continuing their daily Montessori routines with enthusiasm and cultural appreciation.

At Matenek Tots (0-3), the little ones learnt a new Timorese folk song, filling the classrooms with music and smiles. 🎶

At Matenek Kids (3-6), the children explored Timorese artifacts and cultural objects through engaging presentations, deepening their understanding of Timor-Leste’s rich heritage and history. 🏺📚

We proudly welcomed our children back for Term 0 — and what a special moment it was! 🌱

For the first time ever, we received our children back across two Montessori centres:
👶 Matenek Tots Centre (Manleuana)
🧒 Matenek Kids Grove (Kampung Baru)

Seeing our children explore and settle into our newly prepared Montessori environments reminded us why we do what we do 💛 On the very first day, they filled the spaces with much curiosity, independence, and joyful learning.

🎄✨ Christmas Magic at Matenek Montessori 

This year, Christmas came alive at Matenek 🤍

Our Matenek Tots and Kids explored the joy of gingerbread making — pouring, mixing, shaping and tasting while building fine motor skills and independence. They also shared smiles during a thoughtful gift exchange, learning gratitude, kindness, and social grace. The Montessori environment sparkled with Christmas-themed Montessori materials, inviting hands-on learning through the festive season.
