ความเป็นมาในการจัดตั้งมูลนิธิ
จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ได้ชื่อว่าเป็นเมืองนักปราชญ์ เป็นเมืองแห่งครูบาอาจารย์ที่มีชื่อเสียงและเป็นที่เคารพนับถือของพุทธศาสนิกชนมากมายทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติ ผู้คนราวๆ 40 สัญชาติ มาศึกษาเรียนรู้และปฏิบัติตามคำสอนของพระพุทธศาสนา ที่วัดป่านานาชาติ วัดหนองป่าพง และวัดสาขาอื่นๆในอุบล เรามีของดี อันทรงคุณค่าอยู่คู่บ้านเมืองเราแท้ๆ แต่ดูเหมือนว่า คุณค่านี้จะเป็นที่ตระหนักในเฉพาะกลุ่มคนที่เข้าวัดและผู้ที่สนใจ ปฏิบัติธรรมเท่านั้น ยังไม่เป็นที่ให้ความสำคัญแพร่หลายในกลุ่มคนทั่วไป โดยเฉพาะลูกหลานชาวอุบล
อีกทั้ง ผู้คนในสังคมปัจจุบัน ต่างให้ความสำคัญกันมากในด้านวัตถุและสิ่งนอกตัว โรงเรียนก็เน้นแต่ทางด้านวิชาการ และผลคะแนนสอบ จนทั้งเด็กและผู้ใหญ่ ต่างก็เครียดและเป็นโรคซึมเศร้ากันมาก สถานศึกษาแข่งกันผลิตแต่คนเก่งเข้าสู่สังคม จนลืมผลิตคนที่มีคุณธรรมศีลธรรมและมีสติปัญญาในการใช้ชีวิต เด็กๆไม่ได้เรียนรู้และฝึกฝนวิชาชีวิต ซึ่งส่งผลให้เกิดปัญหาต่างๆในสังคมมากมายและนับวันก็ยิ่งเพิ่มมากขึ้น ดังนั้นจึงพูดได้ว่าคนที่โลกเราขาดกันมากในปัจจุบันนี้ ก็คือ คนดี
การจัดตั้งมูลนิธิเกตุกมลา มีแนวคิดในการช่วย “สร้างคน” ให้เป็นทั้ง คนดี คนเก่ง และคนที่มีความสุข สู่สังคม โดยที่มูลนิธิจะมุ่งทำกิจกรรมและดำเนินการต่างๆ เพื่อช่วยในการบ่มเพาะเมล็ดพันธ์แห่งความดี เพื่อช่วยปลูกฝังหลักธรรมคำสอน รวมถึงหลักในการใช้ชีวิตที่ดีงาม ให้แก่เด็กและเยาวชน เพื่อเติบโตเป็นผู้ใหญ่ ที่สามารถพึ่งตนเอง และสร้างประโยชน์ให้แก่ทั้งตนเองและผู้อื่นได้
วัตถุประสงค์ของมูลนิธิ
1) ส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้และความเข้าใจ ในคำสอนของพระพุทธศาสนา เพื่อการนำไปปฏิบัติในชีวิตจริง ให้เป็นแนวทางในการดำเนินชีวิตที่ดีงาม
2) ส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนการศึกษาแบบองค์รวม ที่เน้นการเรียนรู้แบบบูรณาการ การลงมือทำ และการพัฒนาทั้งภายนอกและภายใน อันยั่งยืน
3) ส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนการพัฒนาคุณภาพและศักยภาพของเยาวชนในทุกระดับชั้นของสังคม รวมถึง ครู ผู้ปกครองและผู้สนใจ ด้วยการจัดกิจกรรมค่าย หรือการฝึกอบรม หรืออื่นๆที่เกี่ยวข้อง
4) ส่งเสริมการพัฒนาวิถีชีวิตที่ยึดหลักปรัชญาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง ให้สามารถพึ่งตนเองได้ และเพื่อความมั่นคงของสังคม
5) ส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนการรักษาวัฒนธรรมประเพณีที่มีคุณค่าของไทย รวมไปถึงการสืบสาน รักษา และต่อยอด ภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่น
6) ส่งเสริมการพัฒนาระบบนิเวศ และการอนุรักษ์ธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม
7) ส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนการทำกิจกรรมสาธารณประโยชน์
8) สร้างสถานศึกษาในแนววิถีพุทธแบบองค์รวม
9) ไม่ดำเนินการใดๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการเมือง
A brief background of Ket Kamala foundation
Ket Kamala (KML) Foundation was established with the concept to plant the seeds of wholesomeness in children, our next generation and our future. There is a teaching that says we can build a decent future of the world by giving the right education to our descendants to help them to be good, wise and happy. The foundation will work like a facilitator to prepare the proper environment and proper way of learning for the children to enjoy learning, to learn by doing, and to be trained in thinking with the right view. The Buddhist teachings, the value based learning, the problem based learning, and the mindfulness activities will be parts of the learning process for them. The life skills that they can learn and train will help them to create benefits for oneself and others in our society. The competition and chasing of the outside material things are so strongly focused at school and at work when children become adults. The rates of kids and adults suffering from stress, depression and anxiety has risen tremendously. Morality, generosity and wisdom in life seem to be forgotten or taken for granted, but they are truly important for being a human to live a life of happiness. Ket Kamala Foundation also aims to bring kids back to the nature (away from the IT world). And the ultimate goal of the foundation is to establish the holistic Buddhist school in Ubon. But at the moment, as the first step, we have started with the camp activities, which are run by volunteers and it is free of charge for the kids. It is a huge and a long term project, but it doesn’t mean that it’s impossible. We are so lucky that we have a very venerable monk, Than Ajahn Jayasaro, who is our spiritual adviser and inspiration, and also some other senior monks as well. Our plan is to organize the camp once a month with about 30 kids each time. Age will be vary eg. 9-12 or 13-16 or in further future even 5-8. Sunday school is also in our year plan.
