Founded in 1993, the Penn State African American Alumni Organization was established to promote and enhance African American alumni participation at PSU.

The purpose of the AAAO is to assist the University in the recruitment and retention of the African-American students, faculty and staff; to encourage and support educational opportunities for African-American students; to assist the provision of financial support to African-American students; to provide means by which African-American Alumni may be involved in the affairs of the University; and,
