Today at The Wild Place, Pathfinders supported their Mantle of the Expert on mammals by learning their key features, then getting creative by building habitats for their chosen animals.

A wonderful way to kick off your child's day is with a nature-inspired morning at The Wild Place! A place where kids can explore, create, and be inspired, with nature sparking activities, crafts, and play. It’s also a great way to meet other children who share a love for the outdoors!

One of our wild warriors Odyssey International School found this cicada skin on a tree trunk in the Wild Place
• Cicadas live underground as nymphs for years.
• When they’re ready to become adults, they climb up a tree or surface.
• Their outer shell (called an exoskeleton) splits open along the back.
• The adult cicada slowly pulls itself out of that shell.
• The empty casing you see left behind is the old skin called an exuvia.

The Adventurers finished learning about fire at the Wild Place by cooking s’mores & toffee apples! 😋

We strongly believe in neuro affirming spaces, so children can feel safe and engaged to be themselves!

Learning how to hold and sit correctly when using a knife is key. The children are being taught to respect the tools they use at The Wild Place. Today’s lesson was an introduction to whittling.

Pathfinders did a good job of making camp with some woodwork and even managed to lay on a very delicious looking meal! 😊
